A big site

Large pitches. The one we was in was large, sloped too much but peaceful, in what was a large and busy site. Toilet and shower block modern and clean but a distance away.Good height to toilets. No dedicated chemical toilet emptying facility there. Had to drive to an older facility to empty toilet cassette in a basic outdoor wc! In light of slope caravan was difficult to level. Requested a change of pitch as there was some in a walled garden, more centrally situated perhaps more noisy? But was declined this request despite pitches seemingly available. The site overall was not for us but would be great for families with young children as there is a lot to do. We were there with our daughter and grandchildren who were staying with Eurocamp. Apart from the lack of more suitable toilet blocks and chemical toilet facilities the Spa shop was well stocked and reasonably priced. Lovely croissants and bread. The site is well situated to explore the surrounding area, St Malo, Dinan, Combourg and Dol de Bretagne. The local markets are great and the walk to neighbouring village market on Sunday morning was great.  Will not likely return as it was not for us though.

Impressive site but not for us

Very large pitch which we enjoyed being just two people with a small caravan and awning.  Very well cared for hedges and bushes delineating the pitch. Lovely setting.  Beautiful golf course.  Very nice, clean toilet block ...in May when the site was very quiet indeed.  No designated point for chemical toilet.  Well there was but that toilet block wasn't open!  So many positives and this must be great for children with masses of activities such as zip wires .  We won't be back.  Start of the season, not many people but still a feeling that in high season this would be overcrowded and not at all for us. Bar and restaurant weren't clean so what hope do they have in the high season.

Almost a Resort

This is such a big, busy site that it is almost a resort. Depending on your point of view, your liking of it could go either way.  Not so good if you want a quite 'French' holiday.  Great if you want a busy family holiday, especially with kids up to mid-teens, as there is plenty to do. You could spend your whole holiday here without ever leaving the site. The large majority of guests were British (then Dutch, German and French) which does give the place a bit of a ‘little England’ feel. Friendly staff and very good sized pitches although there could do to be more water points and the nearest toilet emptying point was so far from our pitch that I used the car to transport my tank. There is a new toilet/shower block in the centre of the site and whilst this was very good it could have done to be twice the size. There were people waiting for toilets in the mornings and some of the showers did not drain properly (what is it with the French and drains?). Great swimming pools but I would like to see the attendants do something about the blatant sunbed abuse. One English family sent their teenage son to put towels out on the sunbeds each morning. These sunbeds then sat unused for several hours (whilst families with young children sat on their towels on the concrete floor) until this very selfish family turned up to claim them. The teenage son then sat bragging about his ‘excellent reserving skills’ (you know who you are). Overall we enjoyed this site and would go again.

Big & Busy

My wife and I chose this site for the golf which was excellent. Good course , friendly clubhouse with good restaurant. The other facilities which include many activities whilst excellent for families, did not suit us. We found it far to crowded and noisy down at the reception ,bar areas for our taste preferring the tranquillity of the golf course. There was also little regard to speed limits by drivers (including staff on buggies!) or to dogs being kept on a lead. The new shower block would have been excellent if it had been cleaned properly and by staff and holiday alike after use. Not a site we would race back to I'm afraid.

Massive holiday complex

We visited at the end of August 2014 for a week as an older couple wanting to use the site as a base to visit this general area.  I had camped here 35 years ago.  It has changed (how dare they!), now being a massive holiday complex & not our thing at all. Having said that, our reception was friendly & we were given a choice of pitches on arrival & ended up in a beautiful spot overlooking a large lake, well away from the pools, etc. so it was OK in the end. Might go back with grandchildren in future years, but not otherwise, I think.  But of its type, the site seemed fine - just not for us.
