Why stay here ...
This large resort is set in the grounds of the Château des Ormes and has everything active families could possibly hope for. There’s an 18 hole golf course and fishing on site, while the active and adventurous can try archery, paintball, climbing and even a treetop adventure course. There is a new covered dome which covers the aqua park and wave swimming pool, and alongside there is an outdoor pool area, allowing enjoyment no matter the weather. The site has a range of restaurants and bars, some of which are open all season, as well as a supermarket and souvenir shop.
Although it’s possible to have a great holiday here without leaving the resort, those who do will find plenty to do nearby. Mont St Michel is within 30 minutes’ drive, as is Dinan with its old stone houses and waterside restaurants. Closer to the site, Dol de Bretagne has an interesting cathedral and is the centre of some Breton legends.

Far too busy for us
Les Ormes, Domaine & ResortThis site is aptly named as a resort as it reminded us of Alton Towers. We purposely went out of high season thinking it would be quieter !! How wrong!! Coach loads of children arrived each day making it very busy. The only eating places were fast food outlets as the restuarant was closed for a seminar. The pool area was ideal for families and a child's idea of heaven! However for a keen length swimmer it was a nightmare. The outdoor pool was small and the water very warm. It would be a good idea to allow this one area to be used by adult lane swimmers only. Toilet block was great and very clean-no complaints but the pitch we were given was not well maintained and the staff had to search for the waste as it was so overgrown, The shop was adequate and sold fresh croissants baked on the premises. Reception staff were very welcoming and accommodating-However the whole place was just too big and busy for us .
Style over substance
