Pleased To Have Visited

We spent a single night at this site and we would have happily stayed longer. It is a large and busy place, well served by the facilities. Pitches are good. Some are open, others have a hedge border. Our pitch was served by ehu and water was close. The washrooms are very good. The takeaway food service was excellent. The grounds contain play areas and a couple of lakes/ponds. One contains coypu, which I found disconcerting at first - they are a big animal and they are either rat like or beaver like according to taste (or not, perhaps). The only quibble is that we found the receptionist a little too enthusiastic. He insisted he’d met my wife and when we explained that was unlikely, he said it must have been at the NEC. Some folk can’t be helped! Glad we went.

Fantastic Site

We have just come back from a week long stay it this site. We can’t fault it, we loved it and our kids (7 &4) also loved it. The facilities are super clean, the site is well looked after, the pitches are a decent size. There is a takeaway on site and it had, hands down THE BEST beef bourguinon I have ever had. Decent prices and decent portion sizes too. Our kids loved the splash pool, larger pool, park and massive sand pit. The staff working there were really friendly and there was was usually something going on (music on a Friday night, and a kids club, ours didn’t go but it looked good). We will definitely be back we loved it.

Truely Relaxing

We stayed here in July 2018 for 7 nights on the way back from the Spanish Border. The site is in a beautiful setting with wonderful pitches and facilities. When we chose this site we hoped it would offer a little peace and quiet for us, as well as somewhere that our children could keep themselves entertained. (8 & 10yrs). The site didn’t fail to deliver. It’s clearly a very popular place for families of all nationalities and our children discovered that there were many friends to be made. The only slight criticism I have is that the pool is a little on the small size if the site is nearing maximum capacity, which it was during our stay. However, if you are like me and have no choice but to spend you hard earned holidays with your little angels at peak time, then the pool issue will be no stranger to you. We have no hesitation in recommending this place and given the location I’m sure we will visit it again sometime in the future as we make the long journey to the South of France, Spain or Italy…

Fantastic Site, great Beef Bourguignon!

Superb site with excellent facilities and fantastic places to visit. Perhaps the best is the take away beef bourguignon which is second to none. Restaurant superb, swimming pool lovely and clean. Just a superb place to have a very relaxing time. Great for cyclists.

Port in a storm !!!

My wife and I have just returned from a week spent in one of the on-site gites. Why you may ask are we writing a review on a caravan site if we didn't use the facilities. Well its a long story and could have turned out a lot worse. Simply we were on our way to stay at this site on our way home when we had an accident. Nobody hurt. On arrival the sympathy and care shown by all the staff at reception and the management subsequently was nothing short of exemplary. The caravan was not capable of being used overnight although perfectly roadworthy. The site put us on a holding pitch and with the help of Red Pennant temporary repairs were made which were enough to get us home. Whilst we were waiting for all this to unfold we were offered a gite for a few days, which we were only too pleased to take. With the help of Red Pennant we managed to get home and are now seeking repairs. All through this unhappy event l'Eperviere & Red Pennant performed brilliantly and we cannot speak highly enough, turning a disaster into an "almost" decent end to our holiday. Well done to everyone. We really liked this site.

We only used this site for an overnight stop over but we gained a good impression. Yes it's large and yes it's busy but it's not cramped. We were allocated a very large level hard standing that allowed some privacy, there is a good atmosphere on site and the facilities were spotlless. I would be happy to stay longer and explore the area and happy to stay longer her.

Superb!

First class. We have been using this site on and off for over 25yrs and seen it go from strength to strength. Just can't fault it. Spacious, relaxed, convenient, well run. Highly recommended.

A Castels Classic

You know pretty much what you're gonna get with a Castels site - facilities, cleanliness, great management, a good restaurant/take-away in a pretty and impressive location. Can't say anything against this site - there were even tame water-voles around the fishing lake. We had a trip out to Tournus, which is very picturesque and the site information room has a map with a suggested tour route for a walk round the town. Very relaxing and time to re-charge batteries before tracking further south - our 4 nights weren't enough.

Lovely open site with Top Class Restaurant on site.

Just stayed for another overnight stop on the way back to the uk from the South of France. The hardstanding pitches are very spacious and easily accessible. Electric hookup is easy as is the water tap location. Shower/Toilet block very clean and always has hot water. The restaurant in the Chateau is really nice with Service to match. A 3 course meal with a good bottle of red wine for 2 people will cost about one hundred euros and i must say is worth every penny !! Gert Jan, the owner, is really friendly and very helpful in every way. You must give this site a try because you'll certainly be impressed and return time and time again.
