We also arrived here in June after the area had suffered from several days of rain. The pitch suggested for our motorhome was completely unsuitable but the friendly staff member helped us choose one which was. On return for five nights in July we were given a much more suitable pitch which was huge. Staff genuinely friendly and helpful. Site is wonderfully placed for site seeing but a car is needed.
Been to site before. Very helpful staff. Quiet and peaceful site. Large pitches, but grass could have done with being cut, but do understand had had a lot of rain! Will be staying for another night on our return journey, before we catch Eurotunnel.
We stayed here for 2 nights on our way to The Vendee in June. Generally speaking I have to agree with all the comments made about the rain and the site - we too sank into the ground, and yes, the site could do with a general upgrade as it is looking tired but the location and the truly hospitable employees really outweigh the negatives. If you can, try and have dinner in the Chateau (prepared by the owner) - excellent food and service and a snapshot into what life must have been like 100 years ago. Would certainly return, hopefully when it hasn't been raining for weeks on end!
We have stayed here many times and love the site for the peace and quiet and great restaurant. Rain this year made parts of the site more difficult but the excellent staff worked hard to ensure we had a firm pitch easy to access and depart. We generally stay on the way to Britany but I would like next year to build extra days at this site as it is a lovely setting with great things to do in surrounding area.
Whilst in a popular part of Normandy this site is well off the beaten track along narrow country lanes which can be hazardous given the speed at which some locals travel around some of the blind bends. Unfortunately our stay coincided with some of the wetest weather in France for years. The initial pitch we were directed to had very long grass. The next morning, feeling much fresher after the previous day's long drive we moved to a better pitch. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Whilst the site has a 5 star rating many of the facilities are in need of refurbishment. A long walk to the creperie is marred by a very uneven path which could easily turn an ankle in the dark. Grey water has to be disposed of in the chemical disposal point and nowhere else. A disappointing experience overall. We left 4 days early.
Nice site enjoyed watching Euro 2016 in the barn . Nice warm pool . Enjoyed a crepe on site. Staff very polite.
No hairdyers or hand dryers in toilets. Local village nice to sit and watch the world go by.
We have stayed many times and are never disappointed. Staff are great and Creperie really good and dog friendly. Grass was a bit long but at least no noise from lawn movers. Looking forward to returning soon.
Have stayed at this site many times over the years, and it never fails to please. A warm and helpful welcome, good pitches, good facilities, and not too far from the ferry at Caen. In the middle of the Normandy countryside, near a pleasant little town with all the shops needed. In spite of the excessive rain this year, which had made grass cutting difficult, the site was still in good condition. Will certainly go again.
We arrived extremely late due to a sat nav issue???? We made a call to The young guy on reception and he offered to meet us near the church in the village and lead us to the site. It was very dark so all the facilities were missed. Wish we had arrived earlier to enjoy the site.
Megga Thanks for the help to get to the site.
