We have used this site over many years and am sorry to report the new management have made changes which mean we will probably go elsewhere in future. The bar in the Dovecote has gone. The bar is now in the creperie but closes at 9pm. The on site shop has gone but you can get essentials at reception. Bread needs to be pre-ordered the day before so if you arrive without any you now have to go to the supermarket. The bouncy castle has gone too. Overall, I am disappointed with the changes.
Holiday in JUne 2017
We visited this site in June 2017 and were very impressed by it. It was clean, tidy, peaceful and very relaxing. Everybody you met on the site from staff to holidaymakers were all very friendly. Nice walk into the village with a nice square to sit and have a drink. Quite a large supermarket a short drive away - what more could you want. After leaving our previous site at Amiens (which was a tip) compared with this. It was our first visit but I don't think it will be our last

Late August 2016
Had a couple of nights as stop over returning from further South. Site very quiet by then but lovely and clean. Good sized pitches. Â Good facilities for the children although enhanced by very few children around to use them. Pool clean. Didn't go to bar but did eat in creperie/take away which was nothing special but did the trick. Shop seemed bit low on stock but was towards end of main season, looked like would do most essentials. Would go back again similar circumstances.Â
Very Good site - Late August - September 2016
Overall our stay at Camping Le Colombier can be described as VERY good. Pitch- We stayed in a camper van and had a tent pitched up next door and there was plenty of space. The electrical hook up worked well and there were no problems. This site has something for everyone (shady, sunny, private etc).
Showers and toilets - Excellent! The showers are very powerful, they all worked well. Check out the pictures I have posted. The toilets are cleaned every morning and we never had any issues with smells emanating out into the shower area and campsite. There were always more than enough toilet rolls and it was good quality paper. Very clean!
Wifi - The wifi is excellent. I watched BBC iPlayer episodes and streamed international football matches throughout my trip with no streaming issues at all.
Epicerie- If you are staying for a few days, make sure you place your order for the following day and your croissants can be reserved for you by the man or woman working in the shop. I would recommend this, as sometimes if you are late getting up, all the best croissants could be gone. The epicerie also offers a couple of different varieties of wine, some cheese, beers, soft drinks, papers, crisps, biscuits and a few other bits and pieces. Basically, if you are short of something, the epicerie may well save you a trip to the local village. The cost of goods is, as would be expected, higher than local shops and supermarkets, but that’s to be expected.
Washing up area / washing machines / tumble dryers - The washing up area has numerous places to wash up and there is both hot and cold water. Very clean and reasonably well maintained (no dripping taps etc). We did not use the washing machines or tumble dryers, but instructions are detailed on top of the machines.
Swimming Pool - Beautiful pool in a great location. There were some insects in the pool, but the campsite is in the middle of a lot of a forest, so what do you expect :)
La Creperie - Awful! Give this place a wide berth. Lazy staff that have no idea about decent quality food let alone good quality food. We ate here once, and that was enough. The food was so poor that I have forgotten what I ate. Do not waste your time.
The bar - Never went inside, but it did look busy when we passed. Opening times are listed on the door.
Kids room / games area / sports activities/ football field / crazy golf - Don't expect too much from the kids and games room. As the pictures show, the place is very tired and has very little for kids to do. There are some table tennis tables and a table football table, a tv with dvd player and a few DVDs but that's about it. All the equipment for the activities can, I believe, be borrowed from the reception.
Some of the fixtures are very dated and it is obvious that no cleaning has happened for a long, long time in certain parts of the camp (the kids room, the kids play area and the toilets by the pool), but this campsite is a real gem, and is well worth a visit.

Lovely site
Have just returned from our fourth visit to this site and still love it. So peaceful and in beautiful surroundings. The facilities are clean and more than adequate. Staff are excellent, really polite and helpful. Wonderful swimming pool and the dovecote bar is a real experience. We have met some great people there who return every year. We will be joining them.

Going back in time
This was our second short stay on this site as what a treat. The site has a wonderful calm laid back feeling, almost like going back in time. Whilst wife is available, it is limited as therefore the children go off and play and make friends. The site provides a range of basic games equipment to borrow free which encourages this. The pool setting is a real treat and adults are well catered for in the chateau and the wonderful adult only bar, whilst the staff in the creperie are very welcoming to couples and families alike.
We do hope it stays like this and doesn't surcumb to modern life!
Want to go back for longer!!
We spent two spereate nights on the site using it as an overnight stop between Calais and our destination further South. The site was clean and had good quality shower blocks. We now want to go back and stay for a week or so to explore the area more and use the facilities to their full. We were treated to an outdoor classical concert whilst eating in the restaurant,on both nights, and had no problems with getting a table after our trip from Calais.
Won't be rushing back!
We pitched on the smaller area to the left of the entrance so can't comment on the larger area. Pitches were not level and people seemed to pitch anywhere as no real boundaries. Site info was poor, not showing where water points etc were. Enquired at reception where grey water disposal was and was directed outside to the motorhome disposal drain! It seems grey water was to be put down the chemical toilet. This was located in the washing area next to the clothes washers and sinks? If you have a large waste carrier you'll need large muscles to lift it up. Bad smell of sewage everyday which was very noticeable when you entered the site. Restaurant is only open Sat and Tues and you need to book a week in advance so don't plan on using it if you arrive on a saturday after a long trip from Calais. Takeaway was okay. The noise ban after 10pm was a joke as the kids descended on the communal lounge about 9.30pm and where still making noise after midnight most nights.
