June 2016.

One night stop over on the way south.Easy to find just off the autoroute.Facilities limited and toilets require updating-defo NOT a castels 5-star site! Arrived after a downpour and grass pitches waterlogged.

Lovely site, facilities limited

Situated on a parkland site in the grounds of a stunning chateau (no access), this site certainly looks the part. There is a bar and restaurant but this looked a bit rundown and not too welcoming, and the lovely pool was accessed through this bar area. Friendly owners one of whom was English seemed very helpful and we ordered bread for the morning. Good electric hookup and plenty of clean and spacious shower/toilet block facilities. A nicer, more family friendly bar/restaurant would be our only suggestion

Great little site

We stayed here June 2016, all in all a lovely peaceful site, set in the grounds of a chateau. Restaurant was excellent, all of the staff were polite and helpful. No shop but essentials were sold in the bar. The entrance is tight and needs care, the pitch was of a good size. We would certainly return. A trip to Oradour sur Glane is a must...very sobering.

Alastair's Review

A very pleasant, quiet site with very good facilities. Much of the site is like open parkland adjacent to the grounds of the chateau are very well maintained. Woodland walks possible around a lake while there is also a deer park. A good pool area though the tennis court has seen better days. Very helpful staff and a good indoor social area. Interesting visits can be made to local potteries while Oradour sur Glane is a very worthwhile, if somewhat sobering, trip.

Visited in June 2016

We stayed at this site in June 2016, which is conveniently located a short distance off the motorway, and is very accessible to Limoge and other locations of interest. The site itself has a picturesque chateau and manicured gardens, however the area set aside for caravans, Motor Homes and Tents was quite muddy and not very level, the toilet and shower facilities were very disappointing and very cramped, they are in need of some serious renovating and updating. The rest of the facilities were satisfactory and the reception was staffed by a very helpful English speaking lady. Overall disappointing, good location for a stopover, but facilities let it down badly.

Visit in June 2016

We used this for an overnight stay on the way to the south of France. The site was a disappointment, the toilets and the dish washing facilities had a bad smell and the showers were not that inviting. We wanted to leave early the next morning before the gates opened at 8.30 - be prepared they do actually padlock the gates - we had a battle with the French owners to get them to open for us early - they were very rude and even with our limited French we understood we were being chastised for wanting to leave before they wanted to open the gates - I would not stay here again.

Picturesque site

Used this site as a stop over on our way south in mid April (first day of opening). They were unprepared for their visitors and asked us to bear with them! Lights in ladies showers not working. One of the men's shower not working. No wash hand basin in the toilets that were open to wash hands. Facilities not heated. Some window panes cracked.Lovely large grassy pitches between trees but very wet due to weather conditions. Allowed us to put motorhome on roadway due to soggy pitches. Views and walks around grounds of Chateau lovely. A place to stay maybe in the summer but not early season.

STOPOVER AUGUST 2015

We used this site for a stopover again this year on the way south, with the benefit of experience we parked up past the reception and selected a pitch for the night on foot so we could stay hooked up. The staff were again helpful and friendly and we purchased fries from the restaurant which now offers a discounted take away menu. On site there is a well-kept pool area and we also discovered some quiet walks down to a large lake on the far side of the chateau. The site is also signed from junction 28 of the A20 as junction 27 only has usable southbound. The showers and toilets we again found clean if in need of updating.
