Nice stopover near Riems

Nice campsite on the banks of the river, admit 20 minutes from Reins. There was lots of space when we turned up (early evening, in July) As seems normal in France, no toilet paper on the toilets, but at least these ones were segregated. Pool and small spa.

Bit of a surprise.

Very good stop for Reims and fair price. Pitches are good and vary from close to every amenity to spread along the walk on the River Aisne. There is a recent fence behind these and access to the river walk. Facilities are good once inside them but non adjustable showers. Plenty of hot water but short timed water delivery, lots of button pushing required but does the job and roomy enough. Short timers are normal on the Continent. Carrefour Supermarket, fuel, Chemist, Bakeries and pubs/cafe`s all within 10 minutes walk. Excellent staff and a cafe in season. Swimming pool, covered. Supervise your own kids at all times. Cabins for hire, looked modern. Far superior to Strasbourg being in a much nicer location and an easy drive to Reims. Car parking in the Cathedral car park is very reasonable and has superb access to the best of Reims.

Lovely but expensive

This is a great site on the banks of the Aisne with good cycling along the nearby canal. There is a supermarket within walking distance and a wonderful Boulanger a few minutes away although you can order bread but not in October. Toilets are inadequate when the site is full although clean but no toilet roll is supplied, so £25 a night with no restaurant open is too high, I’d expect water and drainage for that, . Staff are very pleasant but it’s time to remove all those old wooden things in between each plot.

Good Site

1.Large,flat pitches. 2.Clean sanitaire with plenty of hot water.Take your own toilet paper. 3.Attractive location on the edge of the village & beside the river. 4.Caution needed when approaching the site because of the road layout.

Nice and clean site

We have stayed here a few times now and it never disappoints. Toilets and showers are clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. There is a Carrefour supermarket within a couple of minutes for a stock up of essentials and fuel and a nice boulangerie just along the main road but there are no particularly good restaurants in the village that we have found. Overall this is a good site for a couple of days.

Great one nighter

This is a great one nighter, five minutes off the A26 Calais-Reims motorway, so ideal for this purpose. Also suitable for longer stays as situated in the champagne region. The pitches are a generous size easy to manoeuvre on too with EHU to each pitch. The staff were warm and friendly and spoke clear English. There is no shop on site however you can order bread and croissants at the reception for the next day. There is a well stocked supermarket just down the road. My only gripe would be, the site looks a little tired. The toilet and shower block could do with a complete refurb. It’s a nice site, well located but needs money spent on it. Would I use it again, yes of course.

Au Bord

We used this site as stop over on our back to the Eurotunnel. The site was very handy for the motorway but first impressions were poor. As a stopover it was adequate but I feel failed to live up to the description and photos. The site looked tired and shabby and clearly had not had any maintenance done to it for a number of years. The staff were very friendly and the food although only burgers/pizza was lovely Would not recommend for any longer than one night.

Great stopover site

Stopped here on our way down to Switzerland and Italy, and on the way back to Calais for ferry. Very friendly, clean site. Ideal distance from Calais to allow for midday and later ferries back to UK.
