Why could you not pay? 

A strange scenario

Looks like you don't have a lot of luck with wardens

I wonder how many times people pitch up and "can't pay" throughout the network.  Could be quite a lot, and may well be a driver for there being security entrance barriers.

We,ve just got back from rowntree park and we found one of the wardens very sharp was told to reverse up to peg if you don't we will move you we have been doing this for years and yes the wardens always say this but not in that manner when you arrive they tell you to come back later and pay the abrupt manner of this warden is unacceptable

Have both of you with this issue  taken up the matter with HO? It is not usual not to pay when booking in - was there a reason for this? Such as card machine down or similar.

As I stated in my review all of the wardens were very polite and always had a smile when we met them. As for paying RichAnn would have passed the site office on their way into York so I cannot see any excuse for not paying before starting shopping trip etc. 

I have been on one site at a Friday before a bank holiday when I and others have been asked to pitch and pay afterwards as the wardens wanted to prevent outfits blocking the highway outside. Not a problem and sensible on that occasion.

At this site they do their best to get all the early arrivals onto a pitch as quickly as possible to stop them blocking Terry Avenue. We watched it while having lunch when we were there. So many people turning up before and on the dot of 12 causes problems and all staff are out at the barrier trying to get them through the gate. Obviously nobody will be in the office to take payment until the queue has been cleared. Very sensible.
