Will Return Soon
I have just spent a lovely 10 days at Yellowcraig cc after not being there for over 10 yrs. I had forgotten what a nice site it is and will be back soon.
The site entrance was tidily groomed and welcoming and the reception from the on duty warden was warm and welcoming. The reception stocks a few varied items however it is only a 10 minute drive to local shops for Food purchases etc.
We were given the usual pitching instructions and went off to find a pitch. The site being fairly busy we eventually chose a pitch overlooking the fields at the back and while manoeuvring the van into place (tight squeeze but our choice of pitch) the warden strolled past and gave us a hand to finish off pitching which was very thoughtful and helping.
The site itself is well kept with a large effort obviously being put in by the wardens and assistants to keep it as tidy as possible with ample waste disposal and recycle points.
The toilet blocks and washing facilities were clean and tidy (apart from where visitors had not bothered to clean up!) However they could do with a modernization.
A dog walk is available just out of the entrance and consists of several well cut paths and a large exercise field with ample Poo bins (So why do some people not clean up after their dogs?) Plus there is a Doggie wash on site!!
A little further out of the site entrance leads you to the beach and a large children’s play area and great walking including the John Muir way. North Berwick itself is only a 2.7mile walk via the glorious beach and makes a good round trip with a stop off for lunch in town.
Buses trains and taxis are available locally for those not wishing to drive further afield
All in all a very Well kept well located site for those looking for a relaxing Holiday but with plenty of walking and things to do not far away if required.
p.s. TV signal fine with a decent aerial good service for 3 and ee mobile users
