Good for families

Worse club site so far.

8m motor home with 2 people. After arriving at approx. 3pm we spent 1 hour trying to find a flat pitch, all the hard standing where gone early and this only left grass pitches which where far from flat and very untidy (long grass), several other members told us that the grass pitches are all far from level and due to the rain they told us to expect wet feet as they hadn’t cut the grass during the dry week before. The whole site look unkempt and I need of some TLC (the entrance to the toilets looked terrible with a flower display covered in weeds and thistles 3 foot high). The facilities where well over stretched due to there only been 1 block, we understand the impact from Covid and the need for social distancing but we felt the club choose money over the customers needs in this case 150+ pitches (they ask you to try to use your own facilities and then accept tents who don’t have the choice)! We just spent 1 week at Malvern hills and my word what a difference, we’ll done Malvern Hills. We will not be coming back to this site as there are many sites local that have better facilities and are looked after better.

We have just returned from Willingcott and echo Digby622 comments. We fully appreciated that due to Covid-19 there were going to be restrictions in place but these are far from ideal. Our observations are as follows:

  • You only get a hard standing pitch if they have any left. If they haven’t then it is grass only and these are not flat and the pitches are not easily marked.
  • The grass is very long and site looks untidy.
  • The site has one facilities block and only 10 people in total are permitted (5 men and 5 women). The facilities are closed for cleaning between 10 and 12, and then again between 5 and 6. During these times the 2 onsite service toilets are also closed for up to 30 minutes to be cleaned. Why not clean the service toilets separately so that there are always some facilities available?
  • As the toilets and showers are all in the same block with the same queue, you end up waiting a long time to use the loo.
  • The access road to the site is very very narrow in places with high hedges on both sides so if you meet a fellow caravanner coming the other way, you will have to reverse back to a passing point. I appreciate this is not the sites problem as it is a public road but people need to be aware of this.
  • The washing up facilities are well spaced out but it looked like only one sink was available for use so the queue for this area ends up merging with the shower, toilets and service toilet queues.
  • The site was very full whilst we were there. With such restricted facilities available, why are they allowing so many people on the site? Especially those who do not have any facilities of their own?
  • The children’s play area is closed but public ones are open. This has meant the children have to play around the site which is not ideal when it is so busy.

We are all finding our feet and having to adjust but I feel more could be done to make the site better.

"Worst CCMH Site We have stayed at!"

I too echo everything previous reviewed here!

We stayed here with family members this last week and decided to leave early.

to say the site is very poor compared to most CCMH, is an understatement!

Electric supply problem Sunday 26th (nearly 4hrs out)

Grass cutting= Nil

Refuse area= No Recycling bins

To be fair, Toilet block was well maintained and clean, but 1x sink available to wash up?

Needs sorting CC
