Newbies To Motorhoming

We are newbies, have done a couple of Britstops which are great but wanted to stay on a site, had a look around, saw some reviews on this site and thought we would give it a go.. So glad we did, the team here have set the “Bar” high, what a great team, place to visit , facilities are excellent, we took a fully serviced pitch site and wasn’t disappointed, the team were at the site were more than helpful. We will be going back again and definitely more the and one more time. Thank you for advice given, much appreciated and keep up the excellent work. Than you so much Phil & Sandy

Lovely site

Another visit to one of our favourites. Always spotless and well kept with new things to see each time we come. Wardens really friendly and clearly take a pride in their job and site. Great walks both ways from site and across the Nature reserve. Seals can be spotted on some days too when tide is coming in. Lots of bird life too for keen spotters. Recommend Vadah restaurant in Stockton too for both take away and eating in. Some nice pubs there too. Beefeater handy across road from site with great beer garden and plenty of water bowls for thirsty dogs.

Loved it

Arrived with Mitzi our motorhome and 2 dogs. Lovely warm welcome. Stayed on serviced pitch, no problems. The site is very well kept, Carol especially was lovely and you could see and feel how much effort and pride she put into the site. The flowers, the magical lite up area at night, the whole site was very well kept, clean and tidy. Asda is a 10 minute walk from site, beefeater restaurant 2 minutes away, cycle tracks brilliant and only 10 minutes ride into town centre. We watched 3 seals playing in the river, 5 minute walk, white water rafts, dog walks brilliant through nature reserve, better on other side of river. Met some lovely people on site and staff couldn't have been better. Hopefully will be back. Steve, Deb's, Ella & Mr Bear

beautiful campsite

First time at a Caravan and motorhome site and was not disappointed. Spotlessly clean toilet block and well kept pitches and gardens. Friendly staff and great location for white water activities Did not use the Beefeater next door but perfect for a short walk for a meal or snack

White Water Park

Just returned from our first visit to this site, and it certainly won't be our last. It's easily located just off the A19 at Stockton and an ideal location to take in the famous 8 Bridges, Stockton and Middlesbrough. The welcome is even by C&MC standards exemplary, the wardens were amongst the most friendly we have ever encountered, and judging by the high standards that were evident on the site, take a real pride in looking after it. The layout of the site is a mixture of hedged continental style pitches to enclaves of pitches. None of this all too frequent straight lines, again real thought has gone into the layouts. Obviously because of this you would expect the facilities to be of the same high standard and you won't be disappointed. The site is located right next to a Water Rafting Course and although closed when we were there I would imagine when it is open it is spectacular. One of the best features of the location is the ability to walk alongside the river to Stockton in one direction and Middlesbrough in the other, avoiding roads altogether, and as we always have our two dogs with us this is a real bonus. Talking to other campers who were like us visiting for the first time all said what a gem it was. One couple even said that they had joined an open air keep-fit session being held on the island by the water rafting course. There's even a Beefeater Restaurant right outside the entrance to the site, which is dog-friendly not only outside but in a section inside as well. My wife and I have driven past this site on the A19 heading North quite a few times never really paying much attention to it's location, but we won't make that mistake again.

My first visit to Whitewater Park

This is one of our favourite sites which we have visited . We got a warm friendly welcome from staff, facilities clean and tidy and very pretty, we stayed on a serviced pitch which was very spacious and also had the added advantage of a hedge around pitch to give you privacy . The site is next to some lovely walks, you can walk around the nature reserve and see the swans and many other birds. Tees Barrage white water canoeing is right next to the site, also out can walk along the river in either direction which is very pleasant and flat. Plus there is a lovely pub right next o the site serving tasty meals throughout the day and it is dog friendly. We will definitely return to this site.

Excellent site

I have been staying on the site (in 3 week blocks before anyone asks how I get round the 21 day max) since the end of January and will be here until mid May. I chose the site as it is literally 5 minutes drive from the place I am working but I would definitely use it again if in the area. It is clean, well maintained and the wardens are friendly, helpful and always have a smile. The pitches (as another reviewer comments) are very large allowing for awnings and cars by the side of the motor-home without encroaching on the next pitch. The site is across the Tees from the A66 and roughly a mile from the A19 so access from all directions is easy. Road noise is minimal and only really noticeable when an emergency vehicle passes on the A66.

Newly placed into my top ten most favourite sites.

This was my second visit to White Water, but the first was over 8 years ago when I found that the serviced pitch that I had was “tired” and “short” and had an odd strip of grass at the front, latticed in some hard material, which was muddy. Thankfully all that has gone and the pitches have been much improved and are absolutely huge – I am almost sure the biggest pitches I have enjoyed. These serviced pitches also had neat hedges dividing them up. I always appreciate this; not because I wish to be entirely private – I like a chat with neighbours – but because it helps to avoid the nuisance from those who are hard of understanding about how to pitch and/or who encroach as far as possible onto the surrounding grass strips. There’s none of that here, thank goodness.

It is, of course, an urban site, located in potentially unattractive environs; but, in fact, I found this a good place to be, and I like it here very much. I enjoy the walk into Stockton, along the riverside, which I took most mornings to enjoy a coffee at Costa. When I was here before Stockton was undergoing a major remodelling. Now complete, I saw displays for yet another proposed redevelopment of the town. It is a friendly place with big aspirations and all the better for that. Without a car you need a bus for Middlesbrough. I am still avoiding buses, so I did not go into Middlesbrough on this occasion. I remember last time catching the bus near the ASDA supermarket and I could see that these still operate along this busy road between Stockton and Middlesbrough. The ASDA is five minutes’ walk from the site. You can enjoy a walk on the Portrack Nature Reserve adjacent to the site. You can, of course, walk along the river, in both directions. It is not far to walk to the Teesside Retail park which has a very good selection of shops.

I found there was no issue from traffic noise; last time I came here, I reported an odd rumbling noise distinctly audible in the still of night. Was it just my imagination or could I hear it still? I am sure I could, distant but present – like a permanently running engine but far off. My irritation with this was more frustration at wanting to know the source, rather than feeling disturbed by its presence. Perhaps I should not even mention it, because it wasn’t a problem. I was just intrigued as to the cause.

I rarely comment on site managers; most often I find that I meet one when booking in, usually female and nearly always smiling and welcoming, and then none thereafter. This time, I enjoyed a brief conversation with a friendly, smiling, male warden, whilst, in sharp contrast, the only female warden I encountered was cold, unsmiling and inhospitable. I could not help wondering if they were partners or opposite halves of two sets of managers. They were the only two I saw on site during my stay.

I enjoyed my stay here 8 years ago, but this time I enjoyed it even more. A lovely site and truly smashing, second to none, pitches.
