Not the clubs finest

We needed a seaside site to bring our grandson away for a few days. Kessingland looked ideal. However, its far from the clubs finest site. Great wardens, liked the fastrack entry system they’ve devised, a few others would benefit from similar (Bunree notably). As others have commented the site is looking tired, although not helped by the current weather, or lack of it. Being seaside you’d expect a site geared towards children, yet there’s no playground!! Leaving the kids nothing to do but race around on electric scooters all day. On the main site the only toilets are at the back, little did we know that just over the fence is the local sewage works, so the aroma is just about permanent. Having our son and grandson in a tent meant we needed to be near the loos. Kessingland itself has very little, in fact Nothing, in the way of normal seaside stuff. Even the local shop is a fair walk. The one good thing was Afrika Alive just up the road. Having visited Whipsnade and Edinburgh zoo’s in recent times, both looking shabby and half empty, Afrika Alive was way better. Well worth a visit, and the highlight of our trip. Unfortunately we’re unlikely to visit Kessingland again.
