Our first visit to Whitehouse Beach CC

Our first visit to Whitehouse Beach CC – A reasonable easy drive / tow but the last ½ mile requires care, due to parked cars and a narrow approach. Beware when / if leaving on a Sunday morning as Kessingland church parking can add to getting your timing and maneuvering right as you head back to the A12. Arrivals – warm welcome and an easy site to travel around to find a pitch (pebble beach side or main site side). IMO the pebble beach side looks scruffy, but the view of the sea can offset this. On this visit we chose the main site and pitched up on pitch 96 – westerly facing – to have the sun on our door. They're where many cones putting pitches out-of-order which was a little frustrating. A possible head scratcher considering how dry April had been, but I am guessing the wardens know their site and in the long term this was best for the CC. Facilities great and to the usual CC standard, although cleaning times (09.45-11.00) for us was not ideal. On arrival we had southerly winds; however, when the wind changed direction (westerly) the nearby sewage farm made itself present with its distinct smell. Although this may seem like a mixed review, we look forward to visiting WHB again to explore for a longer period of time; and would recommend to all - subject to acceptance of the pebble beach, potential sewage smell and cautious drive / tow. BTW The Pearl Chinese takeaway nearby is also OK, but is cash only.
