Lovely site and the best CMC wardens we've encountered

Our first time in Suffolk and this site met all our expectations. The shower and toilet block needs a refurb to bring it into line with many other CMC sites but its location is hard to better. The vast shingle beach is a minute's walk away and there is access to a nature reserve within twenty minutes walk. We explored lots of the local area, Southwold, Dunwich, Beccles and a short trip to Lowestoft. The towns are nothing to shout about, being a bit isolated and/or run down, but the outskirts of Lowestoft clearly has a lot of investment going in. Beautiful rural landscapes abound. With an OS map great walks are easy to find from the site or with a short drive. If it is peace and quiet you want, don't come while schools are out - barking dogs and shouty kids. It's a popular family holiday area. It is, however, the only site I have ever heard lions roaring at 4 in the morning, from the nearby Africa Alive attraction. Magical.

I'll second that! I too found the Wardens and staff to be really helpful and friendly, nothing seemed too much trouble and they never seem to stop working! A credit to the club!
