Been here several times and always an enjoyable stay. Some lovely walks either up above the Threshfield Quarry or along the river to Grassington and onto Burnsall. A few good local pubs, would recommend Sunday lunch at Grassington House. And a good base to visit nearby Skipton, Malham and many other places in the Dales.
An enjoyable few days…
We’ve just returned from a few nights on this site and have found it to be a wonderful base for exploring the local area. Facilities very well kept and clean. Our pitch was reasonably level (60) but we noted that many had to use levellers/blocks. The nearby static site had a good pub, The Gamekeepers Inn, where dogs were allowed in the bar area. Good food and very welcoming. Bus stop at the entrance to the site with a very reliable service. Local buses go to the NP Car Park in Grassington where buses link to many places including Skipton. It is about a 40 min walk into Grassington. There is a nice 1 mile circular walk from the NP Car Park past Linton Falls and back up to Grassington Centre. We will return.
A lovely week in the dales
This location of this site is great for walkers and keen cyclists (there are hills). Skipton is a short drive away but Threshfield and Grassington are only a short walk away. The local Spar is well stocked and Grassington is very picturesque. There are a number of pubs close by but my favourite is the Red Lion at Burnsall c 6 miles away.
The site is typical of a club site; well maintained with a clean well kept shower block and many large hard standing pitches. If putting up an awning you will need heavy duty pegs (sold in the site shop). Our pitch 26 was quite level but I saw many needed blocks and ramps.
Out first time, we will be back
This is a great site with amenities (pub and Spar shop) within easy walking distance. Although it is a little bit more of a trek into Grassington but well worth it. There are also footpaths to the East and West of the site which are great for dog walking.

Best site in the Dales
Friendly Wardens, clean block, peaceful and good walks from site in different directions. TV reception not as bad as mentioned with a decent amplifier
Beautiful location
Stayed at Wharfedale, a very pretty rural site, for a week in June. A fairly large, open, landscaped site surrounded by woodland. Lots of birdsong. It's very well looked after and has one large toilet block, all kept v clean.
Site slopes gently with some level pitches (most are hardstanding). Our pitch was at bottom edge of site and received sun most of the day. It did seem to be in a mobile signal/site wifi shadow area (patchy 3G on O2 and 4G was only just possible on EE network) - to be expected in a rural setting and you could get stronger signal elsewhere on the site
(rural settings often have variable network signal strength across the site). Choose a higher spot if signal/reception is important! Plenty of good walking directly from the site which was great. Reception sells some basic items and spares.
Very peaceful stay and although the site was nearly always full we hope to return next year. A top site in a really beautiful area (Wharfedale, Grassington, fells, etc).
Fabulous Site
Wharfedale is the best site we have stayed on so far. It has access from the back of the site directly onto local footpaths with loads of stunning walks. There is a great Spar shop within 15minutes walking distance that has a great butcher and baker concession within it. There is a very nice pub that does good meals in the adjoining Long Ashes park that you can walk to in 15 minutes. The site itself is spotless and the staff very kind and helpful. We can highly recommend this site.
Probably the best UK break we have had
The site is in an outstanding location, with wonderful flora and fauna at the time we visited, notably deer and foxes in the grounds adjacent to the site, and gazillions of rabbits. Curlews and other birdlife unique to the area also prevalent, and outstanding scenery enhanced by the fact that the meadows had not yet been mown when we were there, creating an abundance of colour, including late wild orchids. Add into the mix outstanding walks close to the site, so no need to drive loads, and the ability to punctuate those walks with one of the many brilliant pubs near the site (some with their own micro-brewery, notably the Lamb Brewery at The Queens at Litton, which also served the best home-made pies I have had in many a year, so not for the dieters!) so this two week early summer break was near perfect. I would recommend a visit to the National Park Centre at Grassington, where there was an abundance of local guides including walking and cycling guide books.
The site itself is very friendly, great wardens, clean facilities and frankly the Covid provisions were excellent, and not really a problem. A shame a notable minority chose not to comply with the band system for the shower/toilet blocks though. Overall one of the best UK caravan breaks we have had, and we will most certainly go back. For walkers and cyclists and fans of the great outdoors this is superb, but not sure there is a huge amount nearby for families with young kids.
Immaculately clean and good location
This was actually our first club site we’d managed to visit and we’re very impressed!
The facilities were immaculate. Lovely powerful hot showers and plenty of space to spread out.
We had a great spot by the playground so the kids were happy running around and playing. The site felt very safe but I did worry if they were being too loud as the site is so lovely and peaceful. There were only a handful of other families there over the weekend so probably more suited to couples, but this wouldn’t put us off, we’ll definitely be back.
Lovely 8k circular walk from site to Linton Falls and onto Grassington. Safe enough for kids with no scary roads without pavements and plenty of pubs and ice cream stops!
Really enjoyed staying here. Wish we could stay longer but the proximity to home definitely means we’ll be back!
Lovely site, very impressed nice location.
We stayed hear for 2 nights , thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The weather was lovely, so made the stay even more enjoyable.
Wardens very nice and helpful. Would defiantly visit here again.
GREAT LOCATION.
