Love it!!

We have visited this site on two previous occasions and it does not disappoint, the site has good facilities and sea views , the staff are friendly and helpful. The site operates a "pitch swap" policy whereby campers already on site can swap pitches and have priority over new comers . There are some nice walks to Tintagel and Boscastle and the route along the Tintagel coastal path has access to a small beach, it is steep to get to and to walk up from but manageable. There is a bus service between Boscastle and Tintagel. It can get extremely windy so be aware of those awnings , we experienced that July 2015 when we spent ten nights there. Sunsets are awesome and there is a chip van that provides a meal in the evenings. A must if you love being close to the sea :)

Great Location

We travelled down early and found ourselves in second place in the queue to enter, great we thought I went to the office to make sure we would enter in order and was reassured that the wardens would come and get each of us in the queue in turn. I needed to walk the dog after the long journey, so I walked the park to scope out potential pitches confident that if we did not get first choice we would get our second being second in queue.  But know just before 11am the office was swamped with people who had turned up later than us and were being booked in and were now grabbing all the best pitches, not wanting to cause a fuss we joined the queue and looked for a pitch, surprise! surprise! all the best pitches had gone to the pushy late people, we ended up picking a pitch in the mud not happy, as I unhitched my wife noticed people on a hardstanding pitch on the front leaving so she ran the the kids in tow like a gazelle to the pitch, left the kids on the pitch then went back to the office to change pitches. success a front pitch in prime location. We then had a great week until the end, the day before we were meant to leave we asked the office if we could stay one more day as the kids wanted to go to the late night Monster truck show in Looe, to be told No! we are full, erh! no your not there are spaces all over the site, but she looks at her screen again and says no we are full come back later it may change, again not wanting to cause a fuss  we went out for the day and told the kids sorry we cannot see the monster truck show as we will have to pack up later ready for the drive home tomorrow, come back that evening and surprise! surprise! again there are lots of available pitches, this left a bitterness to this holiday it started badly and ended badly, please caravan club sort out the staff and implement a better entering system that is fair for all. I would go back again as the location is amazing but all the wiser to the shambles of finding a pitch.

Comment from The Club:

Many thanks for leaving a review. We just wanted to explain that arrivals at this site should be after 12:00, as per Club Site rules. Arriving early on site does cause issues as once the arrival area is full, it blocks the exit for departures. However, the wardens did their utmost to help as they did not want to have to send you away to come back at the correct arrival time. Other people already on site were changing their pitches as people departed, which is why the reception area was busy. The site is almost always fully booked during summer as it is a very popular site in a wonderful location. Unfortunately the wardens were not able to book you an additional night as the site was fully booked. Due to the bad weather there were people that cancelled later that day, which is why there were a few empty pitches. However, the wardens could not give pitches away that were already booked. If they had availability at the time they would have been more than happy to assist and were sorry they weren’t able to on this occasion. I hope this helps explain and clear up any confusion.

Great Site - But Tom...No Dolphins were spotted

Great site, views were to die for from the seaview pitch we managed to bag after doing the Trewethett Tango !! The wardens were great and helpful at all times - very friendly. The site itself was spotless as were the facilities. We will 100% be back..... to one of the best kept sites on the net work.

Always a Restful Stay

We have just returned from Cornwall and Trewethett Farm was our site for the first three days.  We pitched on grass by the information room and had wonderful views.  This site is difficult to improve upon, the position is excellent, we used the bus to go to Bude and walked to both Tintagel and Boscastle. The position being on the cliff top and watching sunsets over the sea is magical.  The staff are friendly and although walking around the site to find your pitch is a nuisance in the rain, I can see the rationale.  We will return here again.

Another fab time

One of the best friendless sites in Cornwall. Fab but not a lot for families to do. Great for couples wanting to go on walks and coastal path trips

site in school hols

Love this site - wardens brilliant, ready to go the extra mile.  Found the site different in school hols.........prefer it out of season.  Found the constant changing of pitches a bit unsettling.  Shall certainly return next year

One of the best on the network

A fabulous site with great views run by excellent wardens who have a great sense of humour. Although there are many pitches, they are all spread  so one still gets the feeling the site is smaller than it is. Well worth a visit and a credit to the club.

Putting Blankets on sunbeds!

My family drove down to Cornwall during the early hours, to arrive early at the site. We were first in the queue hours before we could book in. At the office, we were told we would be called first. The queue built up considerably behind us and the occupants started roaming the site. When we were called in we said we knew the pitch we wanted from previous years, and it was vacant. We were told we had to go and stand on the pitch and return with the number. We legged it up to pitch 69 only to find people from the end of the queue,  standing on it and putting items on the pitch next to it. They said they had got to it first, they were about 8th in the queue and they had not paid and booked in as we were first in the office. We had paid. We went back to the office and told the office person, who shrugged it off, smiled and laughed, but made no attempt to rectify the situation. Not wanting to cause a fuss, or tackle the person standing on the pitch, we chose another pitch. Another person later commented, something similar had happened when they arrived earlier in the week. I love this site, its about our 4th year in a row, and have been there lots of times before, and this has never been allowed before. I can highly recommended the actual position of the site, its facilities and Tintagel, I love it. But unfortunately this did sour the stay for us, and was unfair in our opinion. I think a change is called for next year, and we probably won't renew our membership now.

The windy city

The site was clean and tidy and the wardens were friendly but it is the windiest place we have ever been, we stayed 10 nights in July and there was only one evening when you could sit out without being blown away.

Just the Tonic...

and cider, red and white wine admiring the stunning sunsets on the 4 nights we had there. We had pitch 86 with fantastic views, a short stroll to the facilities either on the level, or down the slope. No need to engage in the tango, but watching people taking part was amusing. Particularly when someone moved a marker from a pitch, to be caught out and then denied the soon to be free pitch the catcher didn't let on about. The kids cache was a lovely way to entertain our daughter, including Dad finding the clues. The play area is more than a filed, it has swings and climbing frames which is ample for kids to make friends and enjoy their time.  We had a non cooking Sunday, pre ordering cream teas the night before, which were sufficient to provide lunch for 3 days. The fish & chip van is very good value with gigantic portions. We had eaten at Rick Steins in Padstow earlier in our holiday. We will use the van again. The walk down to the nearby beach makes a great day out. Facilities spotless, wardens very helpful. We will visit this stunning site again.
