Beautiful scenery

We have used this site twice now as a stop over whilst going from the midlands to holiday in the Cairngorms. On the second occasion we stayed two nights so we could do a little exploring of the local area and visit Stirling Castle. Its a pleasant site with stunning views. There is a restaurant just next to the site which we have used and enjoyed both times. Its worth making a reservation, especially at the weekends.

five day stay August 2016

we stayed at this site as we was visiting family in alloa, the site is nice and staff nice and friendly, nice site as a base to get around the area, whether was not that good had rain and a bit of sunny days, if you need to go out for a meal the woodmen pub and restaurant is just out side the site but we did not go, toilets are very good I would say excellent and good standard I would recommend this site and would come back at some point in the future,

Weekend stopover

We booked the site as a stopover on our return from touring Scotland. We were on 15a which would have had a great view of the hills, had they not been covered in low cloud. The site is very well maintained. The Loos are the best I have been in, with music playing, even a tv to watch while drying your hair. There is a restaurant /bar onsite. We called in on Sat eve for drink on our way back from a walk. After having a look at the menu, we decided to book for Sunday evening. It is recommended that you book as it is very popular. The food is really good, with a very good gluten free option also. Overall a very nice site, shame about the weather. (They cant help with that.) We would consider going back if we are in the area.

Good location

There are good views from some of the pitches, but I felt that the overall feel of the site would be improved by more grass, less gravel.

if you purchase annual caravan club wifi access, be aware that it isn't valid on affiliated sites.

Great

A lovely friendly site, busy but nice. Lots of space for walking and a very good restaurant next to the site. Staff are very friendly and helpful and maintain the site well.  Only a short stay but definitely worth a return to.

Great weekend Break

We are just back after staying here for the weekend the views are great, the staff are very helpful and the shower block was very clean, The pitches are large and plenty of room. I was disappointed with other people on the site within the dog walk not cleaning up after their dogs. I picked up other dogs mess when i was out with my dogs why spoil a great site? We will be returning here again soon.

Lovely Site With Fabulous Views

This well maintained site has huge hardstanding pitches and wonderful views. The wardens were helpful and friendly and the toilet blocks were spotless. Plenty of places to visit including the Kelpies in the beautiful surrounding area. We hope to return again next year.

TREMENDOUS SITE

Just back from a 6 night stay at The Woods. Wow, what a fantastic site. Can't believe we were on the same site as the previous reviewer as we just loved it! We were also at the bottom of the site where the pitches are huge and well spaced out with much more grass and bushes than you see on most sites. Not sure what sort of car parks they use!! There a couple of new lodges but they are in their own area. There are also a load of new touring pitches since our last visit. I'm sure there are some seasonals but not so you'd notice - our immediate neighbours were certainly caravanners just like us. The new wardens are very friendly and helpful and they have the whole place looking immaculate. Caravan utopia with the largest pitches we have came across, spotless facilities, great views and a warm welcome. We have booked to go back in July.
