While the lady on reception was charming, helpful and friendly upon arrival, the site warden was unbelievable. I thought people like him died out decades ago; 'No Cycling' on site to start with, for goodness' sake; our bikes go everywhere with us on our VW California, what's this all about Caravan Club? "You can't do this with your dog, you can't do that with your dog, your lead must be two metres and not three metres" & etc. Poor little chap is turned 16, can barely put one paw in front of another, what an attitude! Having issued his bombastic requirements, the warden then patrolled the site continuously to nit pick at visitors; my wife used her bike to nip to the loos and got an absolutely filthy look; he was too far away to say anything - I might add, we aren't youngsters, we are both retired. While the loo and shower blocks were adequate for a site 2/3rds empty, I would imagine they get a bit congested in high season. Needless to say; we shan't ever be going back.

Response from the Club:

The site staff have been in touch as they want to clear up any confusion. Cyclists are more than welcome at Sandringham and it is a very popular site for cycling with some lovely routes nearby. They recommend anyone with bikes to bring them along with them if staying at Sandringham. However, they do advise members that cycling is restricted in the nearby forest/woods as requested by the Estate, but to clarify cycling is more than welcome on the Club Site and on tarmacked roads. Sandringham, like all our sites, is dog friendly but dogs do need to be kept on leads as per our Club Site rules which is why the warden asked if you could please put your dog on a lead. Please be assured they didn’t mean to cause any upset but just wanted to offer advice on Club Site rules. I hope this helps clear up any confusion and we apologise this affected your enjoyment of the site.
