Return To Sandringham
We arrived at Sandringham for a two and a half week visit at the end of April and received a very warm welcome from wardens Steve and Mark. This was our second trip out since the lockdown ended and we are finding the club sites are now running standardized covid precautions and feel safe and comfortable.
This site is well run by a great team of wardens, our thanks to Steve & Mark, Les & Sue, Alastair & Alison and not forgetting Fern the dog. Even on cold and wet days they always managed to remain bright and cheerful.
Sandringham has become a firm favourite with us with its wonderful ambient woodland sounds and picturesque walks. On one evening walk we saw several muntjac deer in the woods quite close to the site.
A memorable event was the spectacular late evening storm during our first week. Thunder and vivid lightening accompanied by hailstones the size of sugar lumps rattled on the roof and sagged the awning. They were much louder than the tap dancing roof pigeons and took two days to melt!
This area has plenty of interesting towns to browse, both coastal and inland all within an hour's drive. If you want to get away from it all for a quiet day there are lots of nature reserves and beach walks close by. I would recommend the Sculthorpe Moor Nature Reserve which is just under 30 minutes drive away. We took a picnic and had a lovely day there.
We have several more bookings coming up but already have a return trip to Sandringham planned.
