Good for families

My Family Were Disappointed !

We arrived on the 13th January 2020 in high winds and pouring rain. The warden suggested where we should pitch as our family (new to the club) were also arriving that day. The hard standing pitch was well drained and sheltered from the winds. Our family in 3 seperate caravans with dogs and no children were disappointed with the general running of the site with no toilet facilities from 10-15 til 11-30 for cleaning - there was another block but it was closed for the winter although the site was quite busy. Wi Fi had to be paid for, whilst free on commercial sites! The site is listed as dog friendly, sadly not as far as the wardens are concerned. Please caravan Club drag yourselves into the 2000's and care about what your new younger members are looking for, especially courtesy from wardens, we are after all your customers!

Shame

Paid for on many sites.

The site is listed as dog friendly, sadly not as far as the wardens are concerned.

Not sure why you say this.

I guess this was your first visit to a club site.

The facilities blocks are always closed for cleaning on a daily basis, usually mid-morning, but there is generally an emergency toilet available.

Wifi is never free. Some sites include it in the total package price but the club charges separately. It’s detailed in your handbook and on the website.

Why do you consider the site not to be dog friendly? All club sites welcome dogs but there are common sense rules in place for the comfort and safety of everyone. Here's the leaflet about dogs on sites which might explain things.

Sounds to me that you were treated very well, nice of the wardens to help you and your friends pitch together.  That is often very difficult especially in the summer months

Could understand your moan if the toilets were not cleaned and although I think it is a slow process to close toilets for so long I am more than happy to use the facilities as they are normally always kept to a high standard

Would be interested to hear of commercial sites you have visited that have cleaner facilities and are more dog friendly than any CMC site I have visited

Not sure what you younger people are looking for but I for one don't want the club to change to much it seems just fine to me

I can only speak about our own experience, but we are here at the moment and have found the wardens to be very friendly and helpful. The site is lovely with such easy access to the woods for great walks with our dog, so was a bit surprised to hear that you found this site not welcoming for dogs. At this time of year the site was quite a lot quieter which again was nice. The facilities were spotless and with only two wardens on site we understand the need to close them for cleaning for just over an hour. We even saw the Queen on Sunday. Don’t really want to go home.
