Lovely Site in a Great Location
Sandringham Club site is in an ideal location, with easy access from all main routes and providing visitors with all the attractions of Norfolk's coast and countryside, as well as Sandringham House itself.
The welcome at reception is warm and helpful, with information on both the site and local amenities. The Information Room is packed with all that you could want to make the most of your stay.
Pitches are consistently generous in size, and a lot of work has gone into making them as level as possible on what is a sloping location. However, many pitch surfaces and grassed surrounds are beginning to look a little worn, reflecting the popularity of this site.
Water, power, refuse and waste water disposal are all within easy reach, at the usual high standard of Club sites.
There are two shower/toilet blocks which are more than adequate for the numbers using them, and they are cleaned and maintained to the normal high standards we see elsewhere on Club sites. However, these too are starting to look a little "tired" and along with the pitches, would benefit from the refurbishment and upgrades we have seen recently on other sites on our travels.
All staff were unfailingly polite and helpful and are a valuable asset to the site and the Club.
One negative note from this particular stay that I must confess to having already mentioned in other reviews, but is important. We continue to see an increasing number of drivers who seem unable to adhere to the 5 mph speed limit when driving on the site. I am not referring to those who might "drift" between 5 - 10 mph, but to those who appear to think that they and others are still safe when they are doing 15 - 20 mph, whether in a "solo" car, a motorhome, or even towing a caravan. This trend has, I feel, reached the stage where perhaps the Club should consider instructing all wardens to remind drivers of the 5 mph speed limit on site when they arrive and register for a stay.
This is overall a lovely site in a beautiful semi-woodland setting, in a great location, offering something for all. The enjoyment and peace and quiet is a major feature, and with the type of refurbishment of pitches and shower/toilet blocks we are seeing on Club sites elsewhere, we feel that Sandringham would easily maintain, and enhance, its reputation as a "flagship" Club site.
It is genuinely one of our favourites - witnessed by the fact that next month we are scheduled for our third visit this year. We heartily recommend it to you.
