First Trip Out
We have just returned from a three week stay at Sandringham Estate, our first outing since the lockdown restrictions lifted. It was also the maiden voyage for our new caravan, collected just five days before the visit so quite a testing trip. Arrival at site was very efficient with a warden asking details as we queued in our vehicle outside reception minimising contact and presenting a good feeling of safety. This continued as we found how the site was now being run. It was a max of two people in the toilet block at any one time and although they were kept immaculate we finally crossed the line and made full use of our onboard facilities for everything, a first for us. The caravan is now considered to have been "christened". The wardens are doing a great job incorporating the extra cleansing work into their daily routine and making visitors feel safe and welcome. Going out for the he day was a bit different as we chose to avoid busy places however, there were still plenty of things to do and it was an enjoyable stay. It was a wardens recommendation that sent us to Wolferton bog. No, nothing to do with alternate toilet facilities but a nature reserve close by that has a wonderful mixture of woodland and open walks. A great place to take a picnic and feel well distanced for a day out. Sandringham is a lovely site with a cheerful team of wardens who give a wave and a smile whenever they see you or chug past on their little orange tractor. We had a very relaxing stay in rather hot and humid conditions and it was great to be out again. Our big thanks to the wardens for going the extra mile in making us welcome and feel safe. Thanks guys!
