First Sandringham Visit

Having spent the last decade touring Europe and carrying out site inspections for travel guides, I wasn't too sure about what to expect from a CC site. I wasn't disappointed; Easily accessed with clear signage on the different approach roads, the site is situated in a large clearing within the forest and looks very pleasant. Booking in at reception is very easy as you park opposite the entrance door to the office, which also sells a few basics. Two modern facilities blocks were very good and very clean, the site layout and road arrangement made finding a pitch and parking up very easy, even with the stipulation that vans must be reversed onto the pitch. The electricity hook ups are arranged so that you only have to pass over no more than one other pitch with your cable, and there are also TV points for each pitch. The rubbish bin areas were clean and well organised, with separate bins for recycling. Tank emptying and motor home points were easily accessible and adjacent to the fresh water taps. The wardens were polite and helpful, even offering to order a morning paper if you wished for one. Being an adult only site, it is very peaceful and due to the nature of the location there are quite a few dogs enjoying the miles of walkways within the forest, ours included. We enjoyed the experience, even though it was mid-March and can imagine that in the warmer months it is very pleasant place to stay. We have another seven bookings already made at different CC sites round the country and hope that they are all as pleasant as this one.
