Excellent first visit

Being quite new to caravanning, this was our first family visit to the Sandringham site and we weren't disappointed. It was a fantastic location and we had a lovely pitch right next to the woods - a perfect view in the morning whilst we had breakfast! Great site for young children. Our boys (aged 6 and 9) played on the playground every day and made some lovely friends. The lady on reception (sorry I can't remember her name) was brilliant - extremely friendly and helpful and great with the children. I noticed some customers had commented that the toilet blocks were outdated and needed refurbishing. They did seem a little more old fashioned than several other sites we have visited and possibly not the cleanest. The ladies showers were often full of hair and the floor area was quite grubby. Probably needs a deep clean but it might help if individuals also rinsed the area out when they've finished! Also read comments about no Wi-Fi at the site - don't let this bother you - we had a great time going back to basics, away from social media and mobile phones. Fortunately we also had a pretty good week weatherwise - dry but very cold, except a couple of evening showers. Activities - There is a woodland walk to Sandringham House direct from the site, which we did - very family friendly. It was about 1.5miles to get there. We also followed a route to Wolferton to see the refurbished royal station and took in some of the sights of Dersingham Bog. This seemed quite a popular walk with families as we saw plenty of people on our travels. Would definitely recommend the royal station. It's free of charge and pleasing to see the new owner has gone to so much trouble to bring it back to its former glory. Would also highly recommend a trip to Horsey Beach to see the seals. We did a coastal drive, taking in a couple of other places, before arriving at Horsey. There were hundreds of seals all gathered on the beach. Would rate Plattens Fish and Chips in Wells if you're looking for something to eat. A nice little seaside place also. Norfolk is a great area to explore and would definitely like to come back when the weather is warmer!
