Site is easy to find, great location and loads of dog friendly beaches nearby. Two downsides to the site: 1) several of the pitches are sloping and most caravans were on ramps to level across the axel, very disappointing on hard standing pitches. 2) the site Internet was rubbish, if you could log on the speed was VERY slow.
Site was quiet and very well kept but the check in was disappointing, it was a weekend and we were told there were only 10 pitches left but the warden would not mark these on the plan and simply said drive round until you find one! Given the site is large and divided into 3 sections this was disappointing.
Just returned after a seven night stay at Sandringham club site and wish we could have stayed longer. The site is easily found and my satnav was bang on. On arrival at 1 oclock in the afternoon pitches were scarce but managed to find a nice open, slightly sloping pitch which turned out to have the wonderful sun until late evening (pitch 119). Only downside was the occasional smell from the septic tank nearby. The amenity block was always spotless. Walks from the site are numerous and it takes about 35 minutes to walk through the woods to Sandringham House. There is a short walk to a local social club ( no its not a wheel tapper and shunter type club) which makes caravaners very welcome. Fifteen minute drive to various beaches and walking and cycling were very good. Excellent for dog walking. As previous reviewer mentioned the wood pigeons start early bjut just get some ear plugs. Can not wait to return to be greeted by the most pleasant staff we have met on any site.
Stayed for 4 x nights from 19th June in contrast to our last stay several years back in January. First impression was the very cheery and efficient reception which was probably the best we have received on a club site. Everything was neat, clean and tidy even though it appeared full to capacity. The site Wifi was pitfully slow (not helped by the numbers on site no doubt) and made our 1.5 mbs at home seem blisteringly fast! As mentioned, an abundance of pigeons plus rabbits and all manner of birds. We love the estate walks to and beyond the Sandringham visitor centre and had forgotten about the great butchers/general store within walking distance at West Newton. Had a good hearty lunch at the Feathers PH in Dersingham. Great site for dogs with loads of walks, just a pity that some people can’t pick up after their dogs as usual.
We usually visit this site in the winter. Our first visit in June will probably be the last at this time of the year. There are about 100 wood pigeons on site and they wake up between 3 and 4 A.M. and start calling, making a terrible din, often perching on the caravan, which we can't sleep through. This goes on most of the morning.
Apart from that it is an excellent site, which we will visit in the winter when the pigeons wake up when we do !
First site kept beautiful tidy and facilities very clean wardens fine,
My problem was loud tv from a caravan me and my neighbour had to tackle him at 11.30 pm woke us both up,other thing caravan next to me had four dogs the owner excercised them on grass beside our two vans yes he did clean up but the grass area was his personal toilet he never went any further.i was sitting outside and was watching 4 dogs poo lovely site ,some dog owners are so inconsiderate
This was our first time at Sandringham, although we have rented cottages in this part of Norfolk for years.
What a pleasure it was to chill out for a week just walking in the woods with our spaniel-visiting the great beaches and getting my fix of seafood from Brancaster Staithe..
Cannot rate this place highly enough-it`s so good we have booked in again on our way back from the deep south(Suffolk)
Thanks to the wardens for keeping such a wonderful site in beautiful condition.
After arriving on site we discovered a problem with water leaking into our caravan. Shaun Boyle and his wife were so very helpful and we got the problem sorted enabling us to stay and have our holiday. Many thanks again David & Jane from Lincoln.
We enjoyed a beautiful sunny weekend at this site that coincided with a Royal Wedding. Spent Saturday at Sandringham House where a big outdoor screen relayed all the live action from Windsor, lots of people and a great atmosphere.
Then headed back to site where the lovely wardens had organised a 'prosecco and cake' celebration, such a lovely idea to make the day even more memorable.
Sandringham is one of our favourite sites that we visit fairly often. Quiet and peaceful amongst the trees. Always very high standards even when they are full, which is often. Pitches are well maintained and kept tidy.
There is a visiting fish and chip van on Fridays, we didn’t partake but there was a very long queue so assume it was good.
The pleasant walk through the woods to Sandringham House is great and the house and gardens beautiful, or just enjoy a pleasant walk to enjoy a coffee at the Visitor Centre.
One slight blip is the one toilet and shower block and half of the other original one (which has had a more modern extension) which are now looking dated and ready for an upgrade and maybe a couple more toilets and showers as the site is always very busy – but don’t let that put you off, it maybe past its prime but always spotlessly clean.
Great wardens - Karen, Alan, Julie, Shaun, Jennette and Chris who are always friendly and helpful and work very hard - the site is a credit to them all, keep up the good work. Love the daily ditties. Thank you we will be back very soon.
Visited this site some years ago when it was smaller and decide to visit again end of April. Lovely walk through forest to Sandringham. Fish and chips on Site really good. Buses were a bit erratic due to change over of companies running them so hope they have that sorted now. Got stranded in Kings Lynn in the pouring rain and had to wait an hour to get a taxi (£12) back. We note from previous reviews that there were some power problems on Site and whilst we were there the fan on our microwave stopped working, also the fan on our gas oven and our front media system is not working properly. Have googled this and these faults could be caused by power surges so am wondering if this was the case there.
