First Time Out In Our Van!

We picked the Sandringham site as this was only just over an hour's journey and this was the first time taking our van out. I was somewhat nervous as I was struggling to remember everything that the previous owners had told me about the van as well as everything I'd been taught on the club manoeuvring course that I'd been on. I needn't have worried, the warden was very helpful in guiding me onto the pitch and went through the basics on the van so we could get set up. The facilities on the site are top notch, everything is clean, tidy and well looked after. It's well placed for a short hop to the coast as well as shopping in Knigs Lynn. The other great thing was how friendly everyone else on the site was too!

First time at Sandringham and loved it.

Easy access to the site and managed to find a lovely pitch away from the road. Peaceful location and great for walking to Sandringham through the woods. We also visited the Royal Station which is privately owned but open to the public in the afternoons. It's free and well worth a look. The staff had a for sale table which was fortuitous for me as I had just lost an overtaking mirror on the way and managed to pick one up for £1.00. Staff were friendly and the site was sheltered from the wind.

Lovely site well kept.

You will like the site very much. Revisited September and pitched near the trees. We were offered a pitch swap the following day if we wanted but decided to stay where we were. Big mistake. It was windy most days and the caravan, awning and car got covered in Autumn debris - inside and out with the roof insect blinds catching a great deal. The site is very well kept and managed but also suffers early arrivals like any other club site. The afternoon cleaning of the facilities blocks is better for us and the club stated, LAST year, it was rolling this time change out across the network but we haven't seen it happen at other sites we have visited. The route to Sandringham is very, very poorly way marked and we came across a few confused (not yet lost) souls so check the route before your first foray from the site. There are numerous places to visit. Supermarkets include ASDA (undergoing petrol station rebuild) nearby with huge Sainsburys and Tesco closer to Kings Lynn and part of a very big, with very busy roads, retail / business park. We will return, even if there are loads of roundabouts on the East West route.

Sandringham, a lovely site

We visited The Sandringham site and spent a fantastic 7 days in Norfolk. The chip van visits 3 times a week and the ice cream van visits on Saturday and Sunday. A lovely site, in a beautiful area. The wardens were very pleasant and helpful and even had a quote of the day outside the reception. The toilet and showers are kept clean and cleaned in the afternoon. We visited Sandringham House, paid extra and had the guided tour of the garden and the walled garden. We also visited Oxburgh Hall, a beautiful moated manor. This site is now on our must return to list.

Lovely Site will definitely be returning

We stayed at this site for a week towards the end of the summer holidays. We got a pitch up near the play park. The pitch was lovely and roomy (ours backed onto the dog walking area) with plenty of space at the rear of the van to sit out in the sunshine, have a BBQ etc. Our 2 children enjoyed being near the play area, and at one point asked why we were going out that day because they wanted to play for longer! Shower block was up to normal club standards, nicely clean and functional whenever we used them. Onsite Fish and Chip van was very tasty and would recommend a visit to them. Also, for several days during our stay an ice-cream van visited the site at around 6pm we didn’t visit the van ourselves however there were plenty of people stopping him on his way round. If you are visiting the site make sure you have plenty of insect repellent spray and citronella. While we were there we were plagued by gnat type insects that seemed to like the taste of us! This is just nature and cannot be helped by anything than being better prepared. All in all a really nice week and we will definitely be visiting again.

Very Unhappy

Really love this site it was one of my best in the club. This was our second visit to the site and am sorry to say we will not be returning. I was made to be made very uncomfortable and did not like the attitude of the wardens on our last visit. I was involved in a incident on our first visit. It had seemed to me that I was now marked on this site as the wardens did not stop popping up questioning me, saying what I could do or not to do even to the point of telling me to go slow through the site when I was in the entrance to the site returning from a day out. Our holiday was made to feel we could not breath without the wardens saying something. Attitudes need to change on the Warden fellas, it might be Sandringham but remember you are a warden on a caravan site not in Sandringham House !!!! I have read other reviews on the attitude of the wardens but please calm down and relax we are on holiday not in a prison !!!!!! Not happy about writing this review as I love Sandringham site but sorry I need to go away to relax not to go away to be put on edge ever 5 minutes. We will not be returning.

Best yet

This was our first time staying at a Caravan and Motorhome site and could not have wished for anything better. On arrival we were greeted by very helpful staff, giving us all the information and instructions we needed. Everyone we meet were warm and friendly and great fun. We must mention G and C (you know how you are) you made our stay such a joy with all your stories. I overheard a conversation on the shower block stating that the facilities needed updating but I must state that found them the best we have had, they were very clean and tidy and regularly serviced. Well done to all the staff and thank you for all you do, every member of staff we meet had a smile on their face. The pitches were of a good size and everywhere was neat and tidy. We will be back.

Superb Club Site

Very warm welcome when we arrived, lots of useful local information available in and around reception. We were able to choose from the available pitches and we were very happy with our choice, as you’d expect from a club site, everything was well maintained, clean and efficiently run, there is a tv aerial booster on each hookup post, you will need your own co-ax cable, these can be bought from reception. WiFi is available for a charge. Everything has been thought of, washup room, laundry, motorhome freshwater fill, waste water dump point, recycling point etc, etc, the showers, toilets and washrooms are all immaculate. The shop is well stocked and staff friendly and helpful. A fish and chip van arrives Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings just before 6, give your order when it arrives and you will be given a number and told when to come back and collect it. There is a social club which you can walk to through the forest. Take some insect repellent as we got quite a few nasty bites in the forest, it’s wonderful for dog walking and you can walk through to Sandringham House and gardens but you cannot take dogs into the royal park, we were able to walk to the church though. We caught a bus from right outside the site into Kings Lynn, we were able to take our 2 dogs in the bus which was a bonus as we leave our motor home on site, we found all the usual high street shops and it seems there is a market there on Saturdays. There are lots of other places you can get to on the bus service eg Hunstanton, Wells-Next-The-Sea, Cromer etc etc. Would definitely visit this site again.

Caravaning

Hi everyone , I don't usually write reviews on caravan & motorhome club sites I just get on with enjoying the holidays , but I thought it would be a good idea to say a few words about this site , firstly the staff are excellent and very helpful , the pitches are very well maintained clean and tidy , fantastic walks through the woods with or without dogs , not to far to walk to Sandringham estate about 45 minutes to an hour at a nice steady pace , we did this with our granddaughter and it was amazing walking on the woodland paths watching our granddaughter exploring around the base of the huge oak trees discovering the magical fairy houses made and carved in to the bottom of the trees , I would recommend taking advantage of the vouches from the information room , especially the 50% off food at The Farmers Arms when you spend £30 or more only five minutes away from the club site , the only down side of this site is the pigeons , I read reviews of this site and had to giggle when people complained about the noisy pigeons , I thought to myself what do they expect when you are camping in the middle of the woods , I am not giggling now though , we used a club voucher to have a free night stay eight nights for the price of seven , we packed up and came away a full day and night early due to the pigeons , I would highly recommend you take ear plugs and plenty of cleaning materials for your car , caravan and awning , I said to the staff it's bad here with the pigeons , they replied it's worse in the summer , in all honesty if it wasn't for the noise and mess of the pigeons this site would be a very tranquil site , pleased to be at home to get some sleep . yours truly grandad Jimbo .
