Stopover October 2017

Recently used this site as a stopover on the way north, offers immaculate facilities and easy access from the motorway with easy walking in the country park and nice dog walk. Wardens very friendly and helpful with directions for the best way North. The site is situated where the M74 and A725 cross and the road noise is present.

nice site

arrived on site to very helpful wardens when booking in. A lovely well maintained site the wardens keep the place beautiful and clean. Toilets spotless. Lots to do off site and will bring bikes next time to cycle round loch. lots of exercising for the dogs on the park out side the gate. Stayed only two nights. Couldn't stay longer due to road noise and boy racers late at night. And music from the shows near by. Will return but for couple of nights only.

Touring Holiday of Skye and Outer Hebrides

Used this as a stopover on our way to Skye. Fantastic spotless facilities, level pitches, Ideal for our needs. only downside is the closeness of the motorway and the noise from the traffic, but that is being nitpicky and nothing can be done about it. If it hadn't been so close to the motorway, as only breaking our journey, we wouldn't have stayed here. Definitely one to be going back to, even the sun shone :-)

STOPOVER AUGUST 2017

Recently used this site as a stopover on the way north, offers immaculate facilities and easy access from the motorway. There is a Toby Carvery within walking distance which we used and enjoyed walking in the country park afterwards. Wardens very helpful with directions to nearby filling stations. However, the site is situated where the M74 and A725 cross and the road noise is relentless. We would consider using the site again to explore Glasgow but would want to move on after a few days.

A good site for touring the area.

This is a large flat site laid out in typical club style. Access from the South at junction 5 needs you to be in the right lane though so do watch the signs and road markings. There is road noise but near the childrens play area it seemed quieter, possibly due to the thicker trees there. It is a good touring area with Loch Lomond, Edinburgh, Stirling and Falkirk all within an hours drive. Glasow has numerous museums and National trust properties and a very good shopping centre. For trains to Glasgow Bellshill station is about two miles away but for Edinburgh use Motherwell. There is a mini bus service from the site service buses need a walk over a high bridge or the climb up a long hill to Bellshill. Well worth a visit and a good stop over for those heading further North.

nice site

A nice site just off the motorway, facilities were spotless and the site nice and tidy, wasn't as noisy as i thought it might have been, wardens were very friendly and informative, and only a 5 minute walk to the nearest hotel when you cant be bothered cooking

Nice modern site

A very nicely laid out site that still has to mature.The facilities being nearly brand new are second to none.The only thing I can say negative about the whole network is the fixed shower heads which are really too low for a male six footer.To get under the flow you risk burning your bum on the hot tap/pipe. The only downer with this site is that,probably due to a council edict,it is open to non members. To sound totally snobby,some families on the site were bordering on Gypsies.Also some families seemed to have multiple cars on site by the vans.Also there were a couple of tatty old builders transit vans with mouldy caravans.Obviously tradesmen following the work. Although you couldn't see the motorway and junction there was quite a bit of road noise. But still a well kept orderly site and one we would probably return to.

Lovely site spoilt by noise

This was a very well kept site. Toilets very clean with music playing . Wardens where very helpful . The only thing that spoilt it was the noise of the traffic. Could not sit outside because of it. And for this reason only we would not go back. But because it is set In between two motor ways couldn't expect anything else. Shame because it was a lovely site.

Surprisingly peaceful

We stopped at Strathclyde for one night just to break up our journey heading south after a Scottish tour. The site looked to be very newly built and very well designed, with easy access onto each pitch and a short (less than 30 seconds in many cases) walk to the extremely well-appointed facilities block in the centre of the site. The site was about half-full when we visited, and I imagine that it might get a little claustrophobic with a few more vans. We're used to sites that have a lot more shrubs and hedges, so we felt quite overlooked by the other pitches. It will be interesting to see how the site develops over the years, as there was obviously some planting going on. We'll definitely be back - it's a perfect stop off for our next adventure North.

A User Friendly Site

Our first visit to an excellent site. Situated so close main highways, we found this site to be a convenient stopover on outward & return journeys into Scotland. Will stay longer than one night next time, now that we know it has so much to offer. A beautifully maintained site, plenty of space between pitches, immaculate facilities with additional convenient extras such as a toddler & baby changing/wash room. Great for when we travel with grandchildren. The dog walks are the best we have experienced to date, so everyone was happy. Finally the staff, without exception, were friendly, courteous & very helpful. They kindly stored my lost watch, which some thoughtful caravaner handed in, so our stay was complete, when on our return visit, I asked on the off chance if they knew of its whereabouts, & they handed it over. Grateful thanks to all concerned. Look forward to our next visit
