As we were only at the site for one night we never ventured out but loved everything about the site from the friendly staff to the cleanliness of the facility's never had any trouble with noise and will definitely be back for a longer stay soon.
Excellent for Stopover or for Visiting Glasgow
We stayed overnight in early February and the site was in remarkably good condition for the time of year. There is some traffic noise but not as bad as we had been led to believe from previous reviews or may be we are just sound sleepers!
The wardens have a gorgeous doggie - a Cockapoo who our Spaniels loved meeting. The wardens (and their dog!) are very friendly.
The site neighbours with Strathclyde Park where the Commonwealth Games rowing event took place and its a very pleasant 3.6mile walk round the loch.
There is a Toby restaurant beside the site for those who don't want to cook for themselves.
The toilets and showers are excellent and well kept.
Overall an excellent site which we intend to use again when ever we are in the area.
Great Stopover
Although it states there might me noise from the traffic, you’re not really prepared for how much noise. However the site itself was very well maintained, clean and presentable. We would be happy to stay there again as a stopover enroute to somewhere.
No Radio!
Very warm welcome
Warm welcome from the site managers. Great location for popping into Glasgow just off the motorway. Facilities clean and warm with plenty of hot water. Good little dog walk. Will be my preferred place to stay when I have to go to meetings in the city.

Nice site, very convenient
Only stayed for an overnight stop en route to the north of Scotland. Just the thing after a long(ish) drive and allowed us to relax and refresh before moving on. Warden was friendly and the facilities spotless and warm cold December weather. Very convenient for the M74 and the road noise was not intrusive, just a low hum in the background. Would like to come back and explore a very nice part of Scotland
Winter visit
Visited this site as we wanted a base near the west side of the country for a change.Being the time of year ,late November, not many sites are open anyway.
Being near the motorway was good for getting places but the downside was the noise from the traffic,it did say in the site description about the road noise but the amount of emergency vehicles passing by and horns from lorries and cars was terrible.Maybe the lack of leaves on the trees didn't help to cut the noise down.
Everything else was good though.
A Surprise
Situated within Strathclyde Regional Park and only about 2o mins. from Glasgow this is a most convenient site. It is just off the M74 and close to the M8 so about 30 mins from Edinburgh. There is a daily mini bus (£7.59) to the centre of Glasgow. Excellent for dog walking either in the park or on site. Good restaurants 10 mins. walk. The facilities are modern. There is some constant traffic noise from the surrounding roads but you soon get used to that.
Great site
Spent along weekend there in October, staff where extremely friendly, site was spotless, large pitches, toilets where spotless, great location from motorway, lots to do with M&ds theme park 10 mins walk
Ideal stop over
Excellent site and site staff. Ideally situated for stopover when travelling to and from Scotland.
OCTOBER - TWO NIGHT STAY
Great site to stop overnight as just off the motorway; at the same time it is noisy because of the motorway, but the benefit outweighs the noise and it didn't bother us too much.
The major works around the motorway junction are nearing completion; we weren't there long enough to investigate but there appears to be a high rise footpath/cycle path taking you over the junction which could be useful to get to some local shops for supplies.
Excellent help from the wardens re getting into Glasgow with or without the motorhome. We chose to use the mini-bus which calls as the site each morning and drops you right into the City and picks up at an agreed time. Friendly service from the driver, which made our visit very easy. There is so much to see in Glasgow, we will make a return visit.
The facilities on all sites are clean but the cleanliness here was at another level - well done to the wardens.
The radio playing in the toilet block annoys us; we'd rather have peace and quiet, but no doubt others will like it. I would just question whether the cost of the licence to play music in public is Club funds well spent?!
