Surrounded by roads But a nature lovers paradise.

After two and a half years of ill health and a necessary lifestyle change, I just wanted to say how much this caravan site has aided my recovery. It has well presented pitches and relaxed atmosphere, wildlife conscious site wardens who go out of their way to be helpful, sometimes in their own time. and a friendly clientele. We regularly see Tawny Owls, foxes, woodpeckers, tree creepers, Goldcrests, to name just a few. The best evening walk ( in our opinion ) on the site network. Nature is so important to our well being as it can make our lives richer. It has certainly been a wonderful healer for my husband and I. Denise.

One of the best

These no-toilet-block sites are among the very best for those, like us, who have our own. Can we have more, please? They are almost always the most peaceful. There is road noise here, but it doesn't disturb unduly. Our stay this time was again very agreeable, and the wardens were great. We always enjoy a ramble in the Stover Country park right next door, and this is one site with a bus-stop right outside (rather than 'within 1 mile', a description we always find rather useless).

Beautiful Site.

Firstly, very easy to find, just off the A38. The welcome from the friendly wardens was excellent and the location next to the beautiful Stover Country Park was wonderful. The pitches are large, flat and in a lovely setting. The dog walk on site is perfect a quick walk and sniff, but the parkland adjoining the site is amazing. A bus stops outside the entrance, if you don’t want to move your motorhome to visit Newton Abbot or Exeter. Very quiet pitches backing onto the river. The only noise was the hoot of an owl at night. Will be back. Throughly recommended.

Well laid out peaceful site

Excellent location, easily accessed from Exeter to Plymouth main road. Spacious pitches, flat and gravelled. Reception extremely friendly and welcoming despite arriving outside the normal reception hours. All the facilities needed for a motorhome. I have used the site before and would use it again.

end of season stay.

last week of season site as well kept as first day of opening. bins checked every day grass well looked after a credit to staff who were very helpful at all times. people say minimum facilities just because no toilet or showers. Please keep it this way 99% of motorhomes and caravans have them built in so use them. Water/ waste/toilet points are within a very short walk from any pitch. lovely walks from site and buses outside gate . If you req full facilities there are plenty of other places to go I hope the club never change this one .

Persistent Power Outages

Nothing like as good as it was. Overly busy, site power infrastructure totally inadequate with power outages at peak times every day. Visited several times in the past but it will be a long time before we return. There are local CL's which will provide consistent power, peace and quiet for a lower price.

Comment from the Club:

Many thanks for your review and we appreciate your feedback. There was a fault that was identified with the electricity and this has now been repaired. We apologise for the inconvenience this caused you during your stay. Between 7.00am and 9.30am the electricity would trip out half the site. The electrician was called and diagnosed the problem, however, due to a part  that needed to be ordered and the fact it was a weekend, this delayed the problem from being fixed for a few days. The site staff issued all pitches affected with a note apologising and explaining the issue asking if people could be economical with the electricity and use gas for their fridges during these couple of hours in the mornings, which did improve the situation. The note also explained it would be fixed once the part arrived. The electricity has now been fixed and this should no longer be a problem for anyone visiting the site but we apologise for the inconvenience it caused you during your stay.

Stover

Although Stover is a low facilities site, it's located in a lovely location with a half hourly bus service to either Newton Abbot or Exeter from outside the site. This was our second visit but unfortunately this year the electricity tripped out several times daily for 6 days. It is a site we will visit again in the future
