Tranquil, natural site
We have stayed at this site many times and have never had a bad stay. The pitches are well spaced and there is a good split between hard standings and grass pitches. There is direct access into Fineshades Wood and this makes it particularly attractive to anyone with a love of nature and wildlife. There are Red Kites flying over the site regularly and these are lovely to watch, whether a bird spotter or not. The site is practically always peaceful and quiet even when busy. There are no facilities on site but this is clear in the Club book and on the website. The site is well managed and well kept and is a haven of tranquility. If seeking peace, quiet and natural surroundings you cannot go wrong staying here. Stamford is twenty minutes away and has all the shops you need when on holiday and there are some lovely places to visit nearby, namely Burghley House, Kirby Hall and a little further away Rutland Water.
