The site has certainly improved since our last visit and now look well. The mix of grass and H/S pitches should suit all taste and the proximity to the forest is great for dog owners. Although there are no views directly from the site one can soon be out on footpaths across open fields. There are no shops close by and the nearest pubs are about 2 mls away. The nearest supermarkets are at Stamford, Morrisons & Lidl, and Corby, Asda & Aldi. The town of Stamford is well worth a visit as is Burghley House. There are a number of footpaths leading from the site and for the cyclist there are off-road trails in the adjacent forest and at Wakeley Great Wood about 1 ml away. There's also good walk & ride around Rutland Water not too far away, where one might spot the Ospreys if one is fortunate. A great value site especially during the off season with it's mid-week discount. We will certainly be coming back again out of high season.
