Art on Merseyside.

We had a weekend here as a location from which to visit Tate Liverpool and Another Place, the Anthony Gormley sculptures on Crosby Beach at Sefton. The trip into Liverpool is easy on the train. Around £5 for a return ticket and trains running every 15 minutes. Journey time is around 40 minutes. The walk from the site to the train station takes around 30 minutes but do take the upper path from the site through the park and straight out to Rotten Row. The lower path is very muddy and we arrived looking as if we had done a 10 mile trek over wet moorland. A notice warning members of that, at the gate would have been appreciated. Tate Liverpool was fantastic. Most of the exhibits were free so we had a happy afternoon for the price of the rail ticket (and lunch in the Tate Cafe which, can be recommended). Bring a torch for the walk back to the site as the road is unlit. Another Place was wonderful. Easy and reasonably priced parking which was easily suitable for our 6m motorhome. Around 30 minute drive from the site. There is also a cycle path which we saw lots of people using. The site itself is very well maintained, the facilities are clean and warm. There is road noise at night but the site placement and access to Liverpool etc really makes up for that.
