Great site near to home!

Good serviced pitch with plenty of grass around for the children. Friendly staff and spotless toilet blocks. The only slight negative was we did not have instant access to the parent and child facilities room, the key we were given for the toilet blocks on arrival did not work for that room or the disabled one. Best to ask for access on arrival.

Great site

Great site. Spotlessly clean and good flat pitches. The site manages where very friendly. The site is a very short walk into town and sea front with a lovely flat promenade to walk on. Lots of shops in town. This has nothing to do with the site only the thief that was there stealing water pumps which cost us £70 to buy a new one. It is very upsetting for this to happen and the site managers were very concerned. How do you stop these despicable people ruining ours and your holidays. They have no shame. Seen secondhand pumps on eBay selling for £45.🧐🧐

Great location just watch out for thieves

Location of the site is brilliant, parks, arcades and lots of local amenities nearby. Great for the little ones to visit. Easy to travel into Southport for the beach and pubs. Turning is tight in places, have a walk round first to get your bearings. Sadly there are people that steal on this site so keep an eye on your possessions. Anything goes even a £50 water pump... There is no CCTV and the site can't really do anything so be warned. Site was clean on our visit, quiet at night despite being school holidays.

Great location for Southport Town

Spent 3 nights at this site in early August. Straight forward to locate and easy check-in. Site is divided into two halves; one area is open, the other appears to be cited around what was a roadway. The latter is very narrow and bordered by over-bearing trees. There is no turning point at the end of the Esplanade section; we would suggest you walk down to view the pitches first. Our pitch in the open area was well spaced apart and level - however unfortunately, a large number of members appear oblivious to the Club Rules and were constantly walking between and over our and neighbouring pitches to short-cut the route to the washrooms - this was very irritating. The wardens are visible, checking pitches etc and on two occasions, had the need to ask members to contain their outfit and awnings/windbreaks within their pitch areas - not on the extended grass area behind your pitch. Facilities were clean and spacious; however, the 'hot' water for showering and more importantly for dishwashing was mostly tepid. To access the beach/sea, you need to cross quite an expanse of Saltmarsh which was muddy and messy and the sea itself was approx 1 mile distant. Adjacent to the site is Victoria Park where various events are held each year - check before you book - but also there is a model engineering club which operates model boats, a ride on gauge railway and radio controlled racetrack - these operate on Sundays and provided much interest and amusement during out stay. The walk to town is best tackled via Rotten Row, which presents a beautiful display of flowers and shrubs for the entire length of the road. Lord Street itself has many cafes/bars/bistros with most offering under canopy pavement seating areas. We enjoyed a late breakfast at The Pavilion and an evening meal at The Potting Shed - both very enjoyable. For the family entertainment, there is plenty of activities including an amusement arcade, fun fair rides, paddle boats etc at the Pier - which were all busy and thriving. Everything is easily accessible on foot.

5* location

Had a great service pitch (106) huge pitches still had a issue with lazy sods taking shorts cuts to bathrooms and also would prefer combi locks on toilet doors instead of keys kept forgetting mine so 2visits every time probably an age issue. But overall great place to visit ,pity Victoria gardens were no access due to setting up for flower show.

Excellent as always

Another most enjoyable stay at Southport. As always, the wardens are hard working, friendly and great sense of humour right from check-in. Check in is speedy, efficient, friendly. The site is so well maintained, both the facility blocks and the pitches. This site is within easy walking (if your are reasonably mobile) distance of the town, including the historic Lord Street, the long pier, beach, and supermarkets. Plenty of eateries and watering holes, including 2 Wetherspoons, and more traditional pubs. Decent shopping too, including M&S. Our favourite site, which we visit at least 4-5 times a year all seasons, even though we are based in the Midlands. A big thank you to all the wonderful wardens here.

Great site

We stayed here last week and as always enjoyed the holiday. Site kept clean as are facilities. Love the variation of cleaning times in the toilet blocks. Be good if other sites could clean in the afternoon when site is quiet. Wardens friendly. Only niggle is that shower cubicles other than disabled cubicle be fitted with a handrail. Otherwise will definitely return. Southport though not a fault of caravan club is in need of street cleaning especially the main shopping precinct. Be good if council addressed this.

Great Site for Exploring

We booked this site for 2 days as we wanted to break up the driving on our way to the Lake District. This site especially the new area was so lovely. The new shower and toilet block were really clean and smart. The underfloor heating when you come out of the shower is fab. We explored on our bikes and learnt a lot about the area. Loads to see and do and what lovely people live in the area. Great things to see, shopping and also food. Will definitely go again. Only thing would say is that having only one Motorhome point which is on the way out makes it going to fill up with water and empty grey waste a tad annoying. Another water point to fill up would be great.

Second visit this year to this great site

This was our second visit to the Southport club site this year and it is fast becoming one of our favourite sites. It is conveniently situated a short walk/ride to the shops, Victoria Park, the seafront and cycle track.we stayed 4 nights in April this year and liked it so much booked for a return trip while we were there and an extra night on this trip. We were not disappointed and were blessed with really good weather. Although the site was busy we never had to wait to use showers or other facilities all of which are spotlessly clean. I must point out The reason for the three stars for peace and quiet is the Enchanted Fields festival was on Friday, Saturday and Sunday of our stay and the noise (I hesitate to call it music) was dreadful tuneless singing, guitar and very loud drumming which went on until after 11 each night not what you would expect from a yoga and well-being festival don’t be fooled it was awful. The park was closed to the public for the whole weekend during the event something to bear in mind if you have children or dogs to walk. This wasn’t the fault of the site but next time we stay we will be checking what is on in Victoria park before booking as I understand from a fellow camper there was also music on the previous weekend. The beginning of this stay and Our last visit was very quiet. The Festival didn’t spoil our stay it was just a bit annoying and we will be returning in the future A big thank you to the wardens for their friendly helpful manner and for keeping the site in tip top condition
