Is there a quieter way to clear leaves up?

I have to agree with the other reviews about the small number of showers - 3 in our block, guessing there are 3 in the other, and although we like the privacy cubicles with sinks, perhaps 7 or 8 is a bit excessive, albeit cheaper. Although we use a motorhome, we still like to go out for a drive and we visited Scarborough, to find that we were not catered for in the Sainsbury's car park, despite the numberplate-recognition-camera telling us that we had 3 free hours of parking after filling our tank. We left Sainsbury's and drove around, found nowhere to park, so did the same as we had done at Bridlington a few weeks ago - went somewhere else to spend our money. Nice area, though, good autumnal colours to see and nice little villages away from the coast. We do appreciate the work of the wardens and the site is kept very well, but please put notices up, share your timetable of the 'noisy work' - tell us as we enter the site, etc. On one particularly sunny day (in October) we sat outside for a cuppa, to be disturbed by a warden with a noisy smelly leaf blower. This, along with all the other petrol engined equipment in regular use, from early morning, could be replaced, I'm sure, with quieter and more ecologically friendly ones - like an electric one or an electric-assist hand cart instead of the mini-tractor to empty the bins, or even using rakes or brooms to clear a few leaves is much better, and good healthy exercise.

An Enjoyable Return Visit

We have visited this site for a number of years and always found it to be a well organised run venue. The toilet blocks are very clean with the showers being probably the best of the club sites, delivering a high volume of hot water. This site is one we will continue to visit.

fantastic week

we went to this site from 5th to 13th for the first time and it was excellent , wardens were very helpful giving great information about the area. pitches are good with plenty of space there is good walks for dogs nearby and a enclosed dog run/ walk . this i thought was particularly good being adjacent too the kids playing area and stopped any encroachment . The surrounding area is nice you can easily walk into the village of ayton which has enough facilities for general stocking up , the spar / garage is large . we were fortunate to have excellent weather which made the whole holiday . the toilet block was immaculate but had 3 showers maybe an improvement could be to replace a couple of the " washing / shaving " booths for showers . If you have not been before the last 0.5 miles display as a no through road just trust your directions / sat nav maybe a sign at the junction at top of the hill would help . Overall a great site and we would definitely return

West Ayton Scarborough

First time at this site, but it won't be the last. From our arrival at reception to departure, we really found everything first class. We were fortunate to have had lovely weather for October, which always helps. Site really does have that calm relaxed feeling.  Washrooms were clean and the showers were powerful with copious amounts of hot water, (not just warm). I would love to have the opportunity to have a seasonal pitch at this site. Having dogs, there are plenty of good walks available along with a good on site walk. Wardens were lovely and friendly without being overbearing. A must visit site, well done the Caravan Club.

Sunny Scarbough Revisited

A lovely weekend at Scarborough West Ayton. Easy journey over on Friday evening, friendly check in and site not busy so plenty pitch choice. Facilities excellent and never crowded. Used wifi without a hitch and good TV reception through onsite booster system. We were really impressed by the play areas: large field for ball games, adventure style wooden equipment, games room with two pool tables and an outdoor table tennis table under a canopy. Smaller play park in a different location for younger children. We love Scarborough, back soon!

what a great site

we have just returned from this lovely site after a two week break here. Peacefull. Friendly wardens, site very clean and tidy. We will definitely be returning again. Very easy to find, and just half a mile from the a170 but absolutely no road noise at all. Shame some caravan club members don't adhere to the 5mph speed limit on site, whats the rush. Know it was a bug bear of the wardens. Plenty to see and do in the area.

A Site to recommend

Had a lovely stay here and was lucky to have had great weather (end of Sept 2015) The site is ideal for visiting places such as Whitby, Scarborough, Filey, Flamborough etc... The staff are welcoming and helpful. The site is well organised with clean facilities all contributing to a relaxing holiday if that is what you want. It makes a great base to stay for walking/hiking/cycling or driving to other local attractions as said earlier. This is the second time we have been here and will definitely return.

West Ayton delights

This is a delightful site with excellent facilities. The location is really handy for the coastal resorts with reasonable public transport availability. Only downside to our stay was the local farmer was harvesting the potato crops, so it was rather noisey most of the day for a couple of days. Will definitely stay here again
