Good Site

Brilliant site, really safe for children and families and with an excellent fenced off area for dogs to run off lead. Really impressed with the facilities, all nice and clean and well located. Sadly booking in was not very good, as a new member of the club, I was made to feel very stupid for not being able to produce my membership card, even though there is no wifi to the site, The chap was really quite abrasive, and despite being able to confirm my name, address etc, he insisted that I needed photo ID. I still have my paper licence and don't normally carry my passport with me! I offered my bank card (which would have matched your details) but was told it wasn't good enough, Sad that this was my first impression of the club, and that I am already thinking twice about anymore bookings or renewing my membership.

Wonderful site with a fantastic team

I spent two nights here with my two little dogs, touring the area to see a few historic sites and then attend the D-Day Commemoration in Portsmouth. It's a wonderful place. The dog walking area is huge, and there are poop bins everywhere, so a very dog friendly place. We had a perfectly level hard standing pitch. The loos and showers were spotless, the water nice and hot and the shower pressure was great. But like all club sites, the place is made by the team. We had a wonderful friendly welcome, and every interaction was positive and helpful. The only thing that needs improving is the wi-fi, which was hit and miss. I've been vanning for decades and only in the past 2-3 years have I come to kinda rely on wifi, so it's not a game changer. Overall, one of the best sites I've every visited. Thanks to the team there.

Only a one night stopover

Not stopped over to use the Portsmouth Ferries as a lot of members do, but still only stayed for the one night. Location is a bit off the beaten track in a forest location but access is fairly easy. The hairpin bend to the site entrance can be a bit tight but if taken slowly (speed limit is 10mph) it's okay. The welcome afforded me after a really arduous journey and arriving late was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The facilities are to the expected high C&MC standard. The weather was against me, with heavy downpours, during my short overnight stay so I wasn't able to take advantage of the forest surroundings, but I would imagine if the weather is good then this site will come into its own.

Fantastic site

Couldn’t fault this site, we stayed for 3 nights in our VW camper principally to do the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. Clearly signposted, super friendly welcome and very efficient check in. Facilities - toilets and showers especially - were spotless and staff clearly take pride in the site. Beautifully peaceful but so convenient for local attractions - definitely recommend the park and ride off M275 for dockyard it was so easy and cheap too. Fish and chip van on the Friday night was a nice treat. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again if down that neck of the woods.

Lovely site with very helpful wardens

We stayed here on a ferry pitch after arriving in Portsmouth from Santander with our caravan. Lovely well kept site. Even though the reception was shut the warden came over to great us and make sure we were OK. Will definitely be back for a longer stay.

Very convenient for a stop before or after a ferry crossing

We have stopped at Rookesbury Park on a number of occasions when taking the ferry to / from Spain. The site is spacious, the welcome great (as usual at Club sites) and the facilities are excellent. The only drawback is that WiFi is almost non-existent - at least at the sire we were on (which was one of the last ones before the exit and quite close to the office buildings). Facilities were top class.

Good for us

We often stay at Rookesbury as it is close to family. The hard working wardens gave us a warm welcome. The site and facilities are very well maintained. Due to family commitments we only used the site as a dormitory

One of the Best

Just had a short stay at Rookesbury, which is our local site, and one of the best in the network. Considering the appalling recent weather the new team at the site have done a great job to get up and running, and maintain the quality of this site. Hopefully the ground will have a spell of dry weather to enable grass pitches to be available when due. All in all well done

.......great site!! great staff/site team

We're frequent visitors to Rookesbury Park Club site (with family living close by). The site is what it is full - of abundant, natural beauty. Just left earlier this week after 4th or 5th visit of the year and we will be returning in 2024 for probably the same number (perhaps more). However, it's a little sad as the whole staff team will be in pastures new in 2024 which is a shame but change is inevitable (apparently!). Hopefully the replacements at Rookesbury will do a grand job keeping this forest site up to the high standards. Thanks for looking after us Paul, Libby, Sal & Steve supported by others but you guys have been the backbone as it were and perhaps we will pitch up near you again........ good look and enjoy a winter rest
