We booked at short notice having never been before. We arrived early and thought we’d be able to wait. This wasn’t possible but wasn’t an issue. We turned around and stayed in the lay-by literally a couple of minutes away on the A66. There is a lay-by on both east and west directions so it’s no bother having to wait. We returned at 5 minutes to 1. Check in wasn’t a bother, the usual efficient way of the CMC. Our pitch was fabulous. At the bottom in the cul-de-sac with lovely views over the fields. This area was quiet, but to be honest though the site was busy we didn’t notice a lot of noise. It’s a lovely open site, you weren’t particularly overlooked. It was always lovely and tidy, the grass and landscape was well kept. The pitches are quite sloped so ramps and kit to get the van level are essential. The facilities were as expected for a club site, they were clean and we never had to wait for showers and toilet to be free. The wardens were excellent. Pleasant and friendly, which makes a site what it is. The site is great for North Yorkshire generally. Richmond is 4 miles away. We went to Thirsk, Northallerton and Mount Grace Priory which was beautiful. We’ll visit again no problem. It’s only just over an hour away for us so ideal for weekends.
