This was our first stay at the Ramslade site and we’re glad we made the effort. Firstly, believe the information in the the site book and on the last leg of your arrival IGNOR your Sat Nav and follow the written word in the book. Even doing that your last leg takes you along a mixed single track and opposing single carriageway section of road with a true 90 degree bend which requires caution as some drivers think they’re the only ones on the road. Arriving and booking in was painless with the COVID restrictions. One thing is for definite, happy staff equals happy campers. We had a serviced pitch, which was level. The facilities blocks were maintained to a very high standard as was the site in general. And to top it all, we had brilliant neighbours around us. What a difference that makes. There are plenty of things to keep you entertained, whether that is walking at Berry Head, taking a trip on the steam railway and paddle cruiser from Paignton, taking a tour at Kent’s Caverns etc. you should not be bored. The downside is having to check if you need to pre-book and doing so if required - you can’t just rock up for some features but don’t let that put you off in any way shape or form. Stoke Gabriel village is a short walk along the road but in some places you end up walking on the grass verge or road. And in this village there are again some narrow roads if you are driving. There are two pubs in the village and we had Sunday lunch at The Castle - good food, good value and good service. Would we recommend the site - you bet we would. Thanks Ramslade.
