Good for families

Great for children

Visited this site in school holidays with two children (6/8) and a dog. We were lucky to get pitched on a grass pitch near the playground. That said there are several pitches near us that are also free. We could see the playground from our pitch so were happy to let the children play with all the friends they’d made on the site. The playground is fairly small but was a magnet for children and ours loved the freedom of hanging out in the park without being hovered over. It went quiet there around 9pm each night. There are several couples here with no children so it’s not overrun despite it being school hols. There’s a dog walk on the site, it runs from near reception to the back to the site. Only a short walk but very pleasant through the trees. There’s a path at the back of the site that leads to the Hare and Hounds (a 2 min walk), we were very impressed with this pub. Children's menu, lovely fresh local food, local beers and reasonably priced. There’s a climbing frame in the beer garden and dogs are welcome outside and inside on one side of the pub so you can enjoy a meal with your dog there if you want. The site wardens were super friendly and helpful and the toilet block was absolutely spotless, we’ve stayed at many club sites before and these showers and toilets were some of the best. A small selection of essential supplies were available in reception - not a shop as such but they stocked milk etc. We are in the area visiting family and will definitely use this site again.
