Disappointed

When I booked this site there were only blue peg (without awning) pitches left - on arrival we were given a plan with 3 (three) to choose from. One was on a grass slope so steep you’d need high chocks. The other two were right on the barrier opposite the toilet block. Basically a car park. A warden came to help us park and guided us back onto the peg - only he got us on a white one!!!! Well we were yelled at that we were wrong but that they’d jiggle things around and we could stay put. On walking around the site it became apparent that there were in fact several white peg pitches and they’d stayed empty for the duration of our stay. Our pitch backed into the road which you could hear by day - I was imagining the image to advertise this site but got left very disappointed.

This is a regular problem with club sites.  What I always try and do is look at the site plan to see where the pitches are, sometimes it is better to choose a blue peg but other times not so.

I witnessed someone last year at Moreton in Marsh who had booked in on a blue peg then gone and pitched on a white peg (not really an easy mistake unless you are colour blind or like you guided by a warden who didn't ask the question) They were made to move although the site cleary was not fully booked

The wardens seem to be getting less and less flexible and the rules are getting dafter and dafter, especially for the price per pitch
