Best showers yet

We made this our stop for looking around south Devon and found the proximity to Honiton excellent for access to shopping if needed. The pitches were all a good size and pretty level. The refurbished main toilet block is spacious clean and the best we have experienced in a Caravan Club site. There was a pleasant winding woodland dog walk which suited Willow our little schnoodle very well. The staff were also very attentive and helpful. I would definitely recommend anybody wanting a good location in South Devon to use Putts Corner

Wiggle Exmouth Exterminator

Travelled to Sidmouth for the "Exmouth Exterminator" ride organized by Wiggle, we arrived late after being stuck at Stonehenge on the A303 (M4/M5 will be our route next time!).... Wardens were really helpful, only grass/mud pitches were available but we were helped onto the pitch and because of lots more rain during our stay we were pulled out of the mud at the end of our stay. Enjoyed the Wiggle ride, lots of hills in Devon so lots of deep breaths! We visited the Donkey Sanctuary during our stay and recommend that for a fun/free day out, suitable for all ages..... Went to the pub opposite the site for a fantastic Sunday roast..... Look forward to our next visit.

Summer in Sidmouth

Had a couple of nights here on a kayaking trip along the south coast. Handy for Sidmouth and Honiton - the site is half-way between the two. Wardens very welcoming and friendly - I hadn't booked ahead, but no dramas like you get at some places. Facilities excellent - two large shower blocks. Hope to stay again.

Just back from Putts Corner

Just back from 6 nights at  Putts Corner. The site is run by a very friendly and hard working team of wardens, contary to another review we found them all to be friendly.  The only gripe that I would mention is that once again we found ourselves pitched next to a caravan that had its door on the offside which meant that the awning was facing ours and we felt that we were being watched all the time. Surely the Caravan Club should make a rule that such units should be encouraged to pitch with their door away from their neighbours. This is not a reflection oni Piutts Corner as it seems to be happening on all sites.

2nd time this year which speaks for it self

Spent 3 days here in August having spent 4 days in June. Weather not so good this time but did have one great day which enabled BBQ am and pm and a day on the beach! The site is very tidy, lots of grass, trees and bird feeders. The new toilet and shower block which we used was modern and spotlessly clean and housed a nice indoor washing up area which meant we didn't need to use any of our caravan facilities. Less work for me! One or two people have commented on aircraft noise but I think they were coming in to Exeter Airport and seemed to by flying very slowly. We didn't find it in any way obtrusive, in fact the opposite, we found it very interesting! They are not that frequent and I don't think we saw them at all at night so couldn't see any problem. Did not hear any road noise from our pitch at all. I can honestly say The Hare and Hounds a few hundred yards up the road did the best carvery we had ever had. Also had a great cream tea from Bovey Down Farm, Farway about 2 miles away, organic clotted cream, jam AND honey. The tent its served in could do with replacing, don't be put off when you see it, the cream tea is so worth it. The only negatives were the very poor Wi-Fi, and I have to say although the wardens Keith and Debbie Watts were so lovely and friendly, the wife of the other couple could barely smile or speak. We did wonder why she was doing the job!

dissapointing!

New toilet block is excellent. Service pitches, don't bother, taps are not on the pitch but between them and too far away, We had to buy more hose from the shop and was given incorrect advice on the connectors they sell and had to purchase extra parts from Homebase. Site is extremely noisy from aircraft and road noise. Not constant but you can't miss it when it happens. We left early due to inclement weather and notified reception of our departure and were duly thanked with no mention of any refund - 3 days early-. when i asked she said no refund until i insisted she checked and low and behold I was entitled to £34. Needless to say we will not be returning to Putts corner

A Good Few Weeks Away :)

We stayed here for a few weeks from 9th August. We've had fantastic sunny hot weather to extremely heavy wet weather but it didn't dampen our spirits! This is a great sight to explore the surrounding towns and villages. Just a note to say we witnessed many cars doing well over 5MPH including 3 or 4 that actually drove the wrong way down a one way system! We had a good time and we'll definitely come back again!

Wonderful wardens!

Our highest praise for all the wardens on the site when we stayed a few weeks ago.  They couldn't have been more helpful and went beyond the call of duty when we had a number of minor problems that threatened to spoil our week away.  We have been before and had a good experience then and we were not disappointed again, despite the awful weather. The cream teas certainly helped!
