Peaceful haven

Just spent a peaceful few nights here over the bank holiday weekend it was busy but didn't spoil our enjoyment. Wardens friendly and site in good condition. We will return as love the area. I agree with the previous posts regarding the few inconsiderate dog owners but please don't 'tar' all dog owners the majority of us clean up after our dogs and appreciate sites with good dog walks.

Love this site

We have just spent 6 nights here. I love this site it is so peaceful and the wardens so friendly. The flowers and baskets were a delight, nice to have the addition of a trough of herbs so we could have mint with our new potatoes that we brought with us. Just a pity that not all dog owners clean up after their dogs but you get that everywhere nothing to do with the site. We found a nice walk just down the road "Simonside" lovely walk round the forest. There is also a walk to the top of a hill that will give you fantastic views but we didn't have time to do it this time but it will be done on our next visit. We will be back.

PEACE AND TRANQUILITY

This has to be the most relaxing place on the planet!!! Beautiful hanging baskets, perfectly manicured lawns and neat and tidy flower beds. These are the 2 most friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable wardens that we have ever met. PLEASE don't move move them on next season we want them all to ourselves here at Nunnykirk. A big thank you for a wonderful relaxing 5 days.

Tranquility

I've not been to this site since I was a child. Fantastic to be back. Facilities are basic but the essentials are covered. But the location is first class, as is the peace and quiet. As others have said some inconsiderate dog owners don't clear up properly and leave their dog to bark at unsociable hours. Lots to explore and visit in the area. But if you want to sit in your van and watch TV its probably not your sort of site.

Nice But !

This is a lovely site well placed for short rides to Rothbury Alnwick Ottoburn and coast etc. Also some good walks close by. In a steep valley it compares with many CL sites and the facilities are on a par with the good ones. With poor TV reception I had to lend the next van an extension aerial lead for the ''plug in'' facility so be aware of that ! Like a previous reviewer I thought I was also at Crufts. Unfortunately  it seems some dogs just use the slightly longer grass near the stream to deposit their business. Cant blame the dogs ! 6-30am was a bit early for the noisy ones to start barking . Tranquil Yes, Peaceful not always.

Be Calm and Caravan

Very peaceful location even though most pitches were in use. I recommend this for those seeking tranquility. Nearby is Simonside - very good 5 hour walk with stunning views and no aircraft "slug" trails or vehicle noise and all for a CL price.

Splendid Isolation.

A tranquil site affording real peace and quiet. For those who need to stay in touch, this is not the place for you. No mobile signal and no wifi. The warden has to manage with 56K dial-up! The location is somewhat remote with the nearest pub a good couple of miles. If approaching from the A1/A696 then turn off at Belsay sp to Scots Gap. Although unclassified, it is a smoother road than the B6342. With dogs equalling the number of humans, it felt at times more like the Kennel Club than the Caravan Club. Midges can be a problem at times.

Fantastic site

A real gem of a site. The wardens were among the friendliest we've ever come across and were a mine of information about the area. There's plenty to do and see, and some nice towns/villages to visit. Morpeth and Alnwick were among my particular favourites. Cragside house and gardens is also well worth a visit.

A Gem!

We loved this site! Friendly welcome from Wardens, peace and tranquility reign. So much to do in the area, two wonderful National Trust properties within easy reach and the wonderful Northumberland coast within easy reach. The sky is huge here, views abound. Can't wait to go back.

Our weekend hideaway

This site is wonderful, peaceful, out of the way and relaxing.  We have been to Nunnykirk four or five times now, this is only 40mins drive from our home but for a weekend get away for a good relax and being able to forget about work it is perfect set it beautiful countryside right in heart of Northumberland, NO PHONE SIGNAL! an other reason why we love it.   Would recommend this site to anyone, no shower or loo's.  A wonderful walk for the dogs goes along the river with plenty of space to let them off the leads.  The wardens are wonderful couldn't be more helpful!
