No good asking us, Gary,  we can only speculate. Are you still there? Ask the wardens, seems unlikely that 100 units would all be leaving in one fell swoop.

Did you arrive without a booking? if so 4 pitches was probably the only ones available for your length of stay? but do as posted above

Thank you for getting in touch, Gary.

The site has strict planning permissions between 1 March and 31 October which allows for a maximum of 200 outfits on site, with the exception of July, August, Easter, and the May Bank Holiday weekends when the maximum number of outfits is no more than 275. This would mean that at the time of your stay, you would have seen these pitches vacant.
