We have visited this site annually since it opened, always during school holidays. We were surprised how quiet the site was with plenty of choice of pitches For cyclists, there is a Sustrans route from the site to Mudeford Quay (maps available from site office). Although not suitable for young children, older children would be fine as it is mostly flat apart from uphill coming back to site. Further afield, drive to Hengistbury Head and cycle to Bournemouth along promenade (not July or August) - recommend Urban Reef cafe at Boscombe to break up journey We drove to Keyhaven and walked to Hurst Castle (£5 admittance for adult) which is approx 1.5 miles along beach
