Having never written a review before I felt incensed to this time. Arrived to this site for a long Easter weekend, with family and friends. Staff were slightly off, not too friendly when we arrived but put it down to them being busy. There were 3 touring families in our party and we all commented how lovely the site and facilities were and how close we were to visiting local sights. We all decided we would book again for later in the year as there is so much to do. However, each time we went in to the shop the staff were miserable and unhelpful. Especially on our last day when we asked if we could stay until 2pm in the afternoon and we were happy to pay as the weather was so good. I was met with a grumpy NO, we are full. However my friend went to reception after me and asked to stay another night and was allowed!! Not that full then!!! I know our pitch was not used the following day and there were plenty of pitches available to newcomers. This has completely put me off visiting again it doesn't hurt to be courteous with a smile. Shame as this was probably the best site we have stayed on, and we have stayed on quite a few.
Great site, Let down by rude Staff
I have been visiting this site Since 2009. The site wardens back then were amazing and really took pride in what they do. Every time a unit left out would come the lawn mower. They were always out and about on site making sure everything was ok and stop for a chat. Our visit this Easter however we were met by new wardens and I have to say the worst welcome to the site I've ever had the female warden was dismissive and quite snappy. My dad enquired whether he could upgrade to a services pitch but met with dismissive attitude and the same attitude when asking about hard standing "I know best " attitude. The same behaviour was shown towards my wife when she tried to make a purchase from the shop. I've never seen this site so in kept the grass was so overgrown everywhere you couldn't walk anywhere on the grass without the bottoms of your trousers soaking up moisture. If I ran the caravan club I certainly would think twice about the a wardens running a site again. It has upset my wife so much that she's thinking of staying somewhere else in future which is a shame as we visit this site 3-4 times a year.
Great Site
Stayed here for 16 nights last August. The site is huge but doesn't feel that big when sited. It was also busy but overall wasn't too noisy at night. Facilities were good but disappointed to see that half of the toilet block was closed at the end of August because the site was still quite full. Pitches were of an adequate size and level. Children enjoyed themselves and have elected to return for our main summer break again this year. New Forest area is also very nice. Overall the best CC site I have stayed on so far.
Disappointed
My fourth visit to this site was disappointing compared to previous visits. There has obviously been a warden change over and this has impacted on the atmosphere of the site. Don't expect to get a decent pitch unless you are local because the wardens start letting people in at 9am, which means all the local visitors guarantee themselves the best pitches. This happened the whole week we were there. Even though we visited in peak season and paid peak season prices two toilets and two showers were locked to cut down the cleaning for the wardens. Also paid £35per night for a service pitch to find our pitch surrounded by 3 cramped grass pitches. Could have stayed at the local premier inn for that price. Not what I expect from the caravan club.
Nice Week
Lovely Week at new forest site apart from the wind but not a lot you can do about that been here before and always clean and tidy wardens are all very friendly and helpfull/As to other reviews about the hard standings being to hard er surely the clue is in the discripsion HARD STANDING
Good start to the Year
This is a superb site which we have visited every year since it opened. We have watched it mature into a very attractive site. The facilities are well looked after by friendly wardens. We look forward to many more visits.

Lovely March week in the New Forest
Just back from a very nice March week, luckily with fabulous weather, in the New Forest. I like Caravan Club sites because you know what you are going to get. This one is bigger and better than most, fabulous facilities, clean, warm, quiet. Great pitches with lots of room, hard standing, good roads linking the various areas of the site, nice gardens, dog walk, playground, wifi, good reception area, parking - you name it, its all here!
To me though there just seemed to be something missing and a few things that I marked down. Firstly you need the car to get anywhere at all. It's just off a very busy main road between Lyndhurst and Christchurch. I ended up hating that road as you had to use it to get anywhere. The nearest village Bransgore for pubs/shops was 2 or 3 miles away just too far to walk really. The site is very flat being on an old WW2 airfield, it's a bit bleak without much protection from any wind, it's all a bit the same throughout without much variation where ever you pitch. The hard standing is very hard and anchoring our awning was very hard work so bring a big hammer and heavy duty pegs. Wifi was very much hit or miss. I bought the annual pass for £25 which is great value but the signal for Sky coverage of the Cricket World Cup kept dropping off my iPad despite the site being extremely quiet.
The site is under the Bournemouth Airport flight path but the occasional aircraft noise was not an issue for us, you can just hear road noise at peak times from the nearby A road but again it's nothing to spoil your stay.
However I'm probably being a bit mean because generally the site is brilliant and the Wardens helpful and friendly when needed.
We enjoyed our holiday, my wife in particular loved the facilities but personally I would prefer a bit more character and the ability to stroll down to the local village or pub.
The New Forest is an amazing place. Love the walks, quietness - away from the busy roads - and access to the Coast.
Solid Ground
Site was very clean and spacious, well laid out pitches, toilet blocks very clean and tidy, however, taking a shower in the evening was a chilly experience.
Found it extremly difficult to put awning pegs in as ground was to hard. (Take hard ground pegs if you are going to put an awning up). try not to get a pitch by the cattle grid if you are a light sleeper.
Second Stay here.
Just returned from our week's holiday in March 15. Visited last in March 14, staff not particulary friendly, and toilets/showers not quite as clean as last time (we weren't alone with this thought either). Still a great site with it's beautiful location with everything the New Forest can offer within easy reach. Definately worth a visit.
