heaven

After a chaotic drive of heavy traffic because of the n500 getting popular we arrived at morvich club site to heaven. Peace and quiet. the scenery is amazing from all angles of this site. lovely welcome from assistant wardens thanking you. lovely site well kept and maintained. Toilets and showers busy had to wait. lovely clean facilities. isle of skye close by for touring. train from there down to dingwall well worth the scenery. sorry to leave this site back some time. price wasn't too bad as I was keeping an eye on pricing list in the book as the club prices can be too high.

beautiful site and location

views and cleanliness are 5 plus and the staff were most welcoming and helpful. the only reason it has less than 5 overall is the prices are becoming a little dear for touring. if you are using only club sites tat can mean £150 per week minimum.

Superb site

We had not booked but we're taken in with a smile and found a really perfect spot. It's a nice quiet location with some fantastic facilities. The shower, toilets and sinks are all spotless. We both thought that this site was a real top performer, great layout. Enough space between plots. Not crowded. Restaurant close by and some fantastic walking straight out of the site. We will certainly return to this jewel in the clubs crown.

Lovely well kept site.

Stayed for a couple of nights on the way to the Outer Hebrides. Very easy booking in and warden very helpful in recommending pitch and information beneficial to our stay. Pitch was plenty big enough for our twin wheeled van, awning and car. Excellent facilities, very clean with piping hot water. Service points were plentiful with rubbish and recycling bins etc. Views were amazing and some nice walks direct from the site for the dog. Although site was busy there was no noise at night. Only down side which is nothing to do with the site is the midgies. A combination of rain, no wind and some sun made it horrendous at times - take plenty of repellants !!!!. Doug & Jenny

My favourite site out of the ten we used on our tour of Scotland.

This was by far my favourite site out of the ten we stayed at during our tour of Scotland. The feel of the site was just right compared to a lot of others. They had the right amount of privacy between the bays and the toilet block was sited in the right place in the park. I used the laundry and the warden was helpful in supplying the change for the machines. The motor home station for waste etc., was in a situated good place with lots of room around it to be able to move the vehicle to access the water and drainage.

Great club site

Easy arrival, lovely hard working wardens, great location and good views of surrounding mountains. Usual very clean facilities block, rubbish, water and chemical disposal points. I didn't use the club wifi but tethered via my phone so EE signal good. Couldn't get radio reception and can't comment on TV as we never bother. Nice to see vans and motor-homes from all over Europe. Haven't rated 'good for families' as we travelled as a family.

2nd visit to this peaceful site

we returned here in July ( our second visit to this site ) and it was everything we expected. Far enough off the main road that you can experience the peace and tranquillity of scotland. pitches are well spaced out and we had choice of quite a few. service points always clean and wardens constantly doing a great job. shower and toilets always available and clean but probably ready for an upgrade but this definitely won't stop us from returning here in the future. all in all a lovely site and not far to get to the isle of Skye too.

OK for us - frustrating for some others

Stayed at Morvich for 6 nights in mid-May. Been here many times and hope to come again. Like an earlier reviewer, our stay was spoiled by selfish and lazy dog owners who let their dogs out to foul the area around the caravans (usually not on their own pitch) and also give abuse when confronted. Only after being spoken to by the warden did they respond by taking the dogs off-site. If dog owners have to be deterred by incurring charges, so be it. Unfortunately, two additional complaints this year. (i) When we arrived, we were told that 8 pitches had no electricity so couldn't be used. It didn't affect us but I'm complaining on behalf of those members who were unable to stay. (ii) One of the ladies' shower cubicles was locked with a notice "In need of plumber" Both these shortcomings persisted for the length of our stay and no sign of any workmern or anything being done to remedy the problems. Do maintenance men not work in the Highlands? As I've mentioned in other reviews - where have the Visitor Comments books gone?

Central location for hillwakers

Situated close to Glen Shiel and Glen Affric this site is another hillwalking paradise. There are some long hikes available direct from the site. However, for the Munro-bagger a car or small motorhome is ideal to get to the start of your walk. Very pleasant site alongside a beautiful river which is not directly accessible. It would be nice to have a pedestrian gate for direct access to the road. Really nice wardens doing a great job maintaining the slightly dated facilities. We paid a lot more at this site than at other northern Scotland sites the same week - not sure why this is.

Does What it Says On The Tin

Visited here in late April, never disappoints it is by far the best site in Scotland if you like the out doors. A must visit is the village of Glenelg and a drive round to the hamlets of Arnisdale and Corran, a route that has the best scenery in Scotland. For a day out on the way back take the Ferry to Skye and explore the southern reaches of Skye and return via the Skye bridge and Kyle. The walks off site are some of the best in the UK. The only minus was with some of the dog owning campers, they never pick up the mess behind them but the club does not seem to tackle this problem of vans with multiple dogs in vans and owners who have no respect for other users. The wardens are on a hiding to nothing as it all happens at night as these owners are too lazy to keep their animals on a lead or use the off site walks. Dogs should be charged for the same as children, Rant over!!
