Firstly I would like a moan about cold water in both the washroom and washing up area, I really do not think it was acceptable to be having to wash in cold water. I could have gone to a CL site if I was happy to go without decent facilities. I did speak to a warden but was only told that the water is set to a certain temperature??
The site itself was in a good location for Winchester with a bus stop a few minutes' walk away.
Good facilities
Ferry pitch stay: When we stayed in the ferry pitch, the facilities were closed, despite this being a year round site. This meant that to use the shower we had to walk to the main site along the road. That was disappointing and the other campers were incredibly noisy when they left early.
Main site: Lovely clean facilities, a beautiful site with friendly staff. The location is good and we went to the Winchester Christmas market. Parking at Worthy Lane was great for motorhomes. When we arrived at 13:00 to check in, there was a queue but the staff offered everyone a fast check in which worked out well. Showers are worth a mention - brilliant strength, warm and continuous. They also have family bathrooms which is great.
Great Makeover
Stayed for a long weekend following the recent redevelopment, which has massively improved the site layout and the facilities. As ever the site team were fantastic and the stay was brilliant. Would question why the new redevelopment didn't include any renewable technologies (e.g. Solar), particularly given the current de-carbonisation agenda and the obvious opportunity that comes with redevelopment?
Revisit after refurb
First visit since site reopened.
Love the facilities and development of the pitches
Great location for getting around Hampshire with easy access from motorway.
Friendly team who were happy to chat about the developments.
We will be back and great it’s now open all year
Nice few days in Winchester
First visit to Morn Hill site after the refurbishment what a difference!!! The new toilet blocks are very nice great pitches and so different from our first visit a few years ago, easy to get into Winchester!!
I would say that the Male warden is not friendly and seems very work shy and fear the site will go down hill if he doesn’t start doing some tidying up grass cutting was required, leaves needed collecting and the steps down to the toilet block need cleaning!!
He loved riding about on his tractor but not doing much !! Come on you have been given a lovely site look after it !!!
Perfectly Clean and Well Landscaped
I find it amazing that somr members left poor reviews on this site. When any business refurbishes there will be teething issues and snags. The grass will grow, the hedges will grow and it will be beautiful.
What a lovely job the club have done, and the wardens have made an amazing job of making it a home from home for us members. Lovely friendly wardens and assistant wardens, and we should count ourselves lucky as members that people like this put so much hard work in yo the sites for us all to enjoy.
The refurb isn't what I expected at all, as it is a complete transformation. Serviced pitches are very spacious as well as the standard pitches.
Facilities are amazing well decorated and so clean.
Dog walk is also still great and in the same place.
Bus outside the site can take you to Winchester or the other way to may villages and even Guildford.
Bishop on the Bridge pub in Winchester is great food and ales, and very dog friend.
We will be back in a month for another quiet and relaxing break yo recharge the batteries.
Thanks all. Jim, Mel and the fluffy ones!
Well planned refurbished site
The Club has come under a fair bit of flack recently with the new booking system, but when you look at what they can do to refurbish a site and I must admit they have done a fantastic job.
The two areas have been swapped over now with the main lower site all hard standing ,open all year, new toilet shower facilities, and about 85% full, this is for October , there are plenty of serviced pitches and two premium service pitches, the second site further on all grass but it seemed much quieter and has an open aspect there are about 10 hard standing ferry pitches.
Winchester is £4.20 return on the bus, only two stops before the town, the bus stop is just a 5 minute walk from the site.We did a lovely walk around New Alresford, and outskirts of the New Forest are 25 miles away.
Couple of minor points though is the roundabout just before the site entrance care is required as you have to halt to cross the Winchester road. There is no pub nearby, unless you use the Travelodge nearby.
More of a stop over than a peaceful holiday destination
We had never visited this site before and are unlikely to go back. We stayed on the bottom site which is on three tiers. The positives are the 2 friendly female wardens and the very modern, and clean, brand new facilities. Winchester is also a very nice place to visit. But other than a good stop over on the way to ferries on the south coast it doesn’t appeal. The site seems unfinished as the edges are full of weeds and stinging nettles. The dog area is no more than a small piece of fenced off rough land, probably as a afterthought and was also full of stinging nettles. The lower pitches are circled around the cesspit and you could smell it too! All in all, not a very well designed and still needs some attention paid to it.

Bit of a let down
We used this site years ago and never returned because it was run down with poor facilities. We booked recently due to the renovations, but these were a bit disappointing. We booked a hardstanding awning pitch and so was located on the lower area. We walked around the upper site and it is as bad as it was last time we were there, uneven balding grass pitches and a very tired appearance. The new toilet block looked good but we didn't look inside. The lower site is poorly thought out and designed, the one way system takes you repeatedly past the service pitches. The short loop around the toilet block still takes you past the service pitches because you cannot turn left to access the pitches at the top area. The motorhome point is also on this one way road meaning the van can lean away from the drain because it is not level. One of the showers were shut when we were there because the controls were jammed. The taps on the CCEP points were loose and leaked all over the ground making the new concrete already green. I told the site warden and he shrugged it off saying they aren't leaking! The chipping on the hard standing is more like builders hardcore and not granite as expected. I would have rather had better stone on the hard standings than money spent on wall size pictures in the toilet blocks. Overall it looks rushed and unfinished.
