This site was once the gem of the Cotswolds sites, being within easy walking distance of the lovely village of Moreton in Marsh with all of its charm and facilities. Also an ideal location for touring the Cotswolds. We haven't been to the site for some 12 years and we were welcome really warmly by the warden. The site is in a lovely setting with lots of birds and wildlife. The two toilet blocks are always spotless although the older one of the two is shabby and ready for a refit. The site has a lovely play area and a generous dog walk. At the rear of the dog walk is a popular footpath across some beautiful countryside to Batsford Arboretum however you cannot access the footpath from the site anymore as barbed wire has been erected. Can I suggest that a gate with a punch lock is fitted (as the club have done at Knaresborough) to allow access to the footpath.The site is open all year and as such I would expect to be able to fit my caravan, awning and Land Rover onto the pitch to save the grass from being churned up. This is not the case. ALL of the pitches are small and are not suitable for twin axle caravans. It is impossible to fit any modern caravan, car and awning alongside each other without ruining the grass. We were advised to park our car in front of the caravan. Firstly if this was possible it masks your view and secondly the gap between the caravans tow hitch and the edge of the pitch was 3 feet. My Land Rover is 1.8 meters wide! As the site was quiet I parked it on an adjoining pitch to save the grass. Many pitches are muddy and need re-gravelling. If this is to continue to be an all year site this needs a rethink. Reduce the number of pitches and make them wider. To keep the grass looking good must be a nightmare for the wardens.
