One of our favourites,l

We use this site regularly, it’s always a popular one being so close to the well equipped Town witb great Pubs and Restaurants. The last few times we’ve been there the weather has been very wet and what is evident, is that the road surfaces need attention. Large puddles gather covering the entire roadway, with poor drainage making access to the toilet block a bit like a wolf run (exaggeration obviously). If the club could allocate some spend to address these areas, It would vastly improve things. Other than that, the site is lovely. Tip: get there as early as possible to avoid the roadside pitches that can be noisy.

Great Site Needs Attention

Just returned from this site having been there before. Its location to Moreton-in-Marsh makes it very appealing and the wardens/toilets are first class. I would totally agree with the previous reviewer when they mention it needs some attention for me the pitches are way too small. I noticed a change in parking (no longer car, caravan, awning) but now park your car in front of the caravan, sorry but when I look out my front window I don't want to see a car I might as well park on the M25. Additionally what happens when you do park like this you drive over and churn up the grass again signs asking you to keep off the grass. Come on CLUB get this sorted this site is a money spinner for you and has been for sometime. Its about time the CLUB listened and actioned this site for some attention to its pitches.

Great location but site in need of a bit of refurb

We have visited this site a few times and stayed for 4 nights this time. The best thing about this site is the location, walking distance of the town with it's shops and pubs and the Tuesday market albeit that there were only a few stalls due to the weather. The toilet blocks are excellent, warm and clean, the wardens are very good. As it was winter the west wide of the site was closed which was a pity as it is a bit tidier than the east side. The pitches are a bit on the small side and as we tow a small car with our motorhome it was difficult to park both without running over the grass which was very churned up in places. The motohome service point needs attention. It was extremely muddy when we arrived and then when we went to empty it had been closed off due to a leak and we had to use the other one on the west side. It would be helpful if the Club itself, now that it is the Caravan and Motorhome Club, could take up the idea to replace these empty points with the metal lids, with a grid over a wide gully. This has been done at Broadway and is so much easier for us motorhomers. A few fully serviced pitches would be welcome.

Good Location

I have only awarded a 3 for families as it is not applicable to us, a N/A box as per the surveys that we are sent independently would be beneficial to giving a more representative grading to the sites. On arrival met by two very busy wardens out and about ensuring the site is maintained to the high standard expected from a club site. Information about the local area made readily available and no problems finding a pitch to our satisfaction. A pleasant 10 minute walk finds you on Moreton In Marsh high street, a mixture of pubs, restaurants, tea rooms, antique and charity shops with a supermarket (albeit very expensive) at the top. A very pleasant way to pass the time in delightful surroundings. During our stay the toilet block was faulty, the wardens reacted quickly and opened the alternative block and dealt with the situation very quickly. Superb location in the Cotswolds, a good bus service for getting about and a train service, this is a site that we shall definitely be revisiting for a longer stay.

Great stay over New Year.

This was our first visit to the club site at Moreton in Marsh and we loved it. We stayed over New Year into January. The wardens were outstanding, very friendly, helpful and organised a great New Years Eve. Thank you. Everything was spotless. The location is greT as it’s just a short walk to Moreton. Have already booked two more visits

Another great stay

Just returned from 7 days at Moreton between Boxing Day and 2/1/18 Had a great break visited Stratford and generally relaxed after Christmas rush . Site was very icy at one point and we had snow but it hasn't put us off lots of mud but it is winter so just lots of old towels for our dog. We did have to move pitch on second day there after porch awning flooded but that's winter caravanning for you sometimes it all adds to the fun 🙈 We love Moreton and will be back in better weather thanks to the wardens for keeping facilities clean especially in this weather.

Pre Christmas break

7 Night stay. Arrived a couple of days after snowfall, which had turned to thick ice in low temperatures. Fair play to Site Hosts, we had a phone call from them on the morning we were due to arrive to let us know that road conditions on site were “treacherous”. Well, we were already on our way and it was time to rely on our Winter Tyres. It was indeed treacherous on site...winter tyres did the job though! First time in a few years of CMC holidaying that every guest has obeyed the 5 mph speed limit...curious that! Site is in a great location, easy, flat walk into Town, we also noticed a bus stop right outside site and the train station in town from where you can get to Worcester and Oxford in under an hour...both great days out. We enjoyed travelling around to see lots of beautiful Cotswold Towns and villages, a couple of our favourites, Burford, (try The Angel Pub for a great lunch by a cosy log burner and warm hospitality) and Chipping Campden with its lovely honey coloured stone buildings.....so English. Only one thing spoiled our stay, and for the record, was completely out of the control of CMC. The complete ignorance of a guest who decided to clean his toilet out at the fresh water point completely floored us...by the time it registered with us what he was actually doing, and I’d parked the car up, he was gone...just as well I suppose! A quick call to Reception...they were obviously furious - and within minutes the whole affected area was being sanitised by one of our wonderful Site Hosts, thankyou, you are all a real credit to our Club. Pitching tip, we noticed a bit of road noise, so choose pitch carefully, there are plenty well away from the main road.

Handy Site

We stayed here for three weeks on our latest visit. The wardens are all friendly and helpful and work hard to keep the site clean and welcoming. The site is central for all the Cotswold area and very handy for the town with its many restaurants.

Large, well-laid out site in the heart of the Cotswolds

We stayed here for my 50th birthday celebrations. We have been here many times before and we are never disappointed by what this site has to offer. A great choice of independent shops, restaurants and pubs in town, all an easy walk along the footpath by the side of the road. Easy access from the A44 and the site, whilst being very large, is laid out in such a way that it feels much smaller and more intimate than it is. Plenty of Cotswold attractions are an easy drive away. We were snowed in on the Sunday and had to stay an extra night: a bonus end to a great weekend away. Great camaraderie from other campers when people were trying to leave and getting stuck, and the wardens did an absolutely top job in almost unprecedented and difficult conditions. Will definitely be coming back.
