Peace and Quiet

Just had a couple of days at this excellent C&MC site at Malvern Hills. Paid when we arrived, chose a pitch from a very good selection, were able to keep away from those with children and also with adults sat outside. Helpful wardens, excellent toilets, showers (and lots of them), washing up room , peace and quiet, exactly what we hope for from the Club.

So big and yet so quiet

First time we were on this huge CC site. Very kind wardens. Were able to find a pitch that had some privacy. Good satellite signal for tv. WiFi worked fine outside. Lots to do in the area.Great pub just around the corner. Sanitary blocks were quite a walk. Not enough for such a big camping. Garbage containers were outside the sanitary blocks. Not enough.

Large site well run

Although this site is large the wardens to a fine job. On arrival the lady on reception was very polite and informative. The pitch we chose was on the perimeter for some shade against the ridiculous Hot Monday and Tuesday we were expecting. The facilities were spotlessly clean and yes I agree the 4G phone reception was poor we didn't pay for the on site WiFi because I think members should get it free...just my opinion. The surrounding area is beautiful. If you like a good curry go to upton upon severn to pundits indian restaurant very small place so book or go early. Malvern it's self is a must the museum gives you a great insight into the history of the town. If your in the national Trust vist Croome. I wish the site had food vendors visiting it .like pizza vans or fish and chips not ever night just the odd time for a change. But on the whole no real complaints love the site and will definitely return.

First Impression!!

On arrival we went into reception the warden was very brusque and rushed us through the site details etc, informing me about the 5 mph speed limit at least 3 times. Never saw him again except breaking his own speed limit on his cycle whilst going against the direction arrows on the road. The site is a jumble of caravans pointing in any direction and is too big. Keep away from pitches that are adjacent to the Girlguiding site, as it is sub let to schools and others. Young people who were taking part in the D of E scheme used the site while we were there and the foul language was atrocious and being used by both sexes. Complaints were made to the warden and they were brush off. It is a site that we will not be revisiting

Revisit

Only one issue for the site..... Club Wifi connection not worth the effort. It is worse that the mobile phone signal which is also abominable. Club appears to excel in having sites with the minimum of technological connections. Otherwise a revisit is in order.

There is always a good pitch

First time on this huge CC site. Fortunately we found a pitch where we didn't have that feeling. The privacy and shade were nice. Many dags: not all owners keep them on the leach. Sanitary blocks are wel kept. Why no garbage containers at water points? Wardens are very kind and helpful. Satellite disk worden fine! Coming from Broadway CC, thit is a cheap site. Los to fo in the area. We are Nat.Trust members. Visited quite a few in the area. WiFi is not bad, whilst outside.

An enjoyable stay

Site well set out and facilities spotlessly clean. Not a huge amount of public transport (3 buses a day) but we managed to visit Worcester and Upton upon Severn. The other two days we took the motorhome to nearby National Trust and English Heritage sites. We had a lovely meal at The Swan in the village. The post office shop in the village is very well stocked.

malvern, a great site for all

malvern is a pleasant site and seems to cater for all types of people with lots of different hobbies. The site is also the first site that I have seen that really thinks about it's disabled / ageing / short customers by putting a couple of small bins beside the large industrial waste bins, so a big thank you for that, perhaps they could share that with the rest of the CMC. It is a large site with grass and hardstand ptiches , the entrance is pretty good and the maintenance of the site is tops. It has 2 toilet blocks, very convenient and a medium size dog walk. Plenty to see and do when you are out and about or just sit and take in the view of the malvern hills .

Our first leisure trip....Just what the doctor ordered

Just got back from our trip to Malvern Hills, 6 nights, but a day earlier than planned due to an upgrade to our unit being slightly rescheduled. This was our first leisure trip, having only used Maggie, our motorhome for business up to now. The Warden Team is fabulous, and the site's condition is fabulous, and a credit to them, and the CAMC. Thank you! On arrival, the reception was jovial and friendly, and did assure us of some great weather... and they were right.... the hottest days of the year so far... it rained as we left site! We were sent on our way to find a spot. We did try a few as we needed some access to the internet and a phone signal for business reasons... (no, you are never truly away if you run your own business!) Phone signal in the area (Vodafone) is patchy to say the least, and 3 isn't much better. The site EHU is 16amp, and never faltered. The site is lovely. Well maintained, and with some lovely views across the local area.Hard standings were full, so we ended up on grass, but the ground was hard, so didn't present our Comanche with any problems, and didn't require ANY levelling at any of the pitches that we tried. The dog walk through the woods is small but lovely, flat, and with a gravelled path. The only thing that could have made the trip better would be a fenced area for our young dog to run, but we appreciate the problems this can present. Our neighbours, on departure, did leave some dog "presents" around their pitch, but this reflects on them, not the site. Facilities are clean and well maintained, and there are numeous service points across the site, with Chemical toilet emptying also at the toilet blocks. We didn't utilise the washing up, or laundry facilities, but they were also kept in the same manner. This may become a go-to site for future trips.

Probably the best site we've visited

Just returned from a six-night stay at this fabulous site. Well spaced out pitches, including over 50% grass (our favourite surface). The site has lots of trees but these are well spaced out to allow plenty of sunshine in whilst still providing the opportunity for shelter if it's too hot (as it was for us some days). Wardens first class and amenities spotless. The views to the Malvern Hills make this a very special location and we spent many a happy few hours traversing their tops. They are not too strenuous to climb if you are reasonably fit and the views are magnificent. The site is remarkably quiet; the only sounds we heard were birds singing. Malvern is a lovely town, although the site is about 3 miles away, and up to a couple of miles more depending on where in the town you are heading. The Morgan factory is well worth a visit and there is a swimming pool in the town if you are feeling energetic. There are also plenty of supermarkets and a regular bus service to Worcester. We caught the train to Birmingham one day (an hour's journey) and drove to nearby Upton-upon-Severn another day, where there is a marina and an abundance of small shops. One evening we drove over to Ledbury, which was very pretty, featuring a number of 'black and white' buildings, which the area is famous for. On our final day we drove to Hereford (about twenty miles) and visited the Cathedral. Overall, a brilliant site with lots to do nearby and would highly recommend it.
