Lovely site

Longleat site is one of the nicest sites we have stayed on. It is clean, quiet and friendly. The barking of the sea lions at longleat is lovely to hear and they made us laugh. They are not so loud as to keep you awake. The staff are all very nice, welcoming and helpful. There are loads of places to visit around the area. Although some are a fairly long drive away, all are worth the visit. Most of the places we went to were National Trust or English Heritage properties and gardens. As members of both, visits were free. National Trust, Avebury Stone Circle and Avebury itself. You can walk around the stones and see Silbury Hill from the stone circle. We also visited Bradford on Avon. A really pretty town with some excellent coffee shops and restaurants. Frome is not far, where there are supermarkets. Sainsbury's at one end and Asda the other. Places to visit are very much a personal choice and it all depends on your interests. We found loads to do and will certainly be back. We stayed 15 nights and there were still places left to see for next time. The White Hart pub at the top of the site access road has a roast and all the trimmings on a Wednesday and Thursday for only £8.00. Great value and plenty of food. All in all an excellent two week holiday.
