Is Longleat club site closing?

The site is amazing but apart from paying the very expensive entrance fee to get into the Park there is nothing to do in the immediate vicinity. How long will this site stay open as we have heard that Lord Bath has plans drawn up for a Hotel and Conference Centre on the land? The new peg trial appears to be a backward step which will add to the confusion some members have of how to pitch up appropriately.

Certainly now we have a MH I would tend to agree, unless you tow or take a car. Walking from the site is fairly limited unless you have a ticket for access to the park. The two times we have visited there was a very good offer for 2 and 5 day passes for CAMC members. I can’t see any mention of those now, which is a shame. However, even with the pass we had security chasing after us when we just used it for walking in the park. I think they must get a few who tried to sneak in.

Cant agree on the pegs. I think they make it much clearer and easier.

The new system they are trialling is a peg to the hard left back of pitch and the right hand one left where it was when they wanted the unit in the middle of the pitch. Then apparently you can pitch caravan / Motorhome / Campervan; awning and car in whichever order you wish as long as your caravan/Motorhome/Campervan is between the posts. Confused?  Many people will be. The two post system was simple. The new trial is only going to be on a couple of sites one of which is longleat.
